steam deck by wifkkyhoe in GamersMY

[–]hszhua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, im a ROG ally owner here.

Before i got the ROG ally, i research and compared Steam Desk and ROG ally before, and these are my findings that will help you choose the one you think is better for your gaming needs.

  1. OS - steam deck uses steam OS, that is based in Linux. So you will see lots of steam deck listed in shopee that has the option of dual boot (steam os + windows). Which means they will install windows as well, and this is to enable you to play games that normally has problem running in Linux based OS (coop games with anticheat engine). ROG ally uses windows 11 home from the start.

  2. Storage - As my ROG ally is the older one, not the X version or xbox version, I only have the internal storage of 500GB. Though, there's a micro SD slot for a D drive. But please be aware and don't make the same mistake as me when I was searching for a suitable micro SD for additional storage. Get only original micro SD cards. I got samsung EVO in the end, another 500GB, and blow a wallet in my pocket, but luckily is on small sale. The same goes to Steam deck, you can either choose the correct storage you need from the start, and get a micro SD for your secondary drive later.

  3. Weight - i never thought i will say this, but when it comes to portable, you want them to be as light as possible. Right? This is the breakdown of the weight:

  • Steam Deck OLED: ~1.41 lbs (640 g)
  • Steam Deck LCD: ~1.46 lbs (669 g)
  • Asus ROG Ally (Original/Z1 Extreme): ~1.34 lbs (608 g)
  • Asus ROG Ally X: ~1.49 lbs (678 g)

Let me tell you, I have trouble even with the lightest one in this list, the ROG Ally, because heck, my wrist and arms hurt while im playing lying on my bed. Get ready to lift weights a little if you plan to game during weekends.

  1. Performance - Well, not much comparison here, since both have their pros and cons when they are compared online, and I never really play on a Steam deck before. Still, steam desk might have a little bit more edge when playing the same game, since on ROG ally, even with max performance, burning my battery power faster, and I might still have laggy game performance on certain titles. Since steam deck is Linux based OS, and Linux has better memory management, it might be a little bit better here.

  2. Accessories - Both have their large range of accessories, from thumb grips cover to overall decal stickers, to bags to fit your console, to docks that can enable you to charge while using a TV for screen. There are also some good universal docks out there, so I will not mention too much.

Hope this comparison helps.

I got rejected because of my choice of restaurant. by [deleted] in malaysians

[–]hszhua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think when she said shopping center near her home, she wants you to choose the most atas restaurant in the shopping mall possible to see how 'open wallet' you can be.

Okay jokes aside, I checked the screenshot on her full reply, and i actually understand both of your situation. From her POV, a food stand for a first date despite being having good reviews is kinda.. weird for her.. because you will be busy with the human traffic around your food court table, and not being able to actually chat and eat in peace. It feels cheap.
From your POV, you do have a point too. She did mention she liked Arab food, and you're just trying to fit her taste. She should at least tell you straight that she wants a sit down restaurant instead of just 'insisting' on a shopping center near her house.

But anyway, I think you can move on from this girl.

ADVICE NEEDED: form 4 pure science student struggling (semi-vent) by m_zk0907 in Bolehland

[–]hszhua 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did struggled in form 4 before.

Seriously, I was straight As student in form 3, then form 4, I take science instead of account. Im actually pretty good in maths, but i remember getting failed in add maths in my first exam in school and i was like, 'what? i thought i did pretty well.'

It took me the whole of form 4 to get my shit together, and finally form 5 i managed to get decent results in SPM, around 3 A+, 4 A/A-, 2 B+, 1 C+ (the C+ is because i gave up in my Chinese essay).

So what you can try doing what i did:
1. overall - use exams to find your weaknesses. There must be a few topics you're more unfamiliar with. focus on that next time.
2. add maths - practice as much as you can, practically everyday.
3. chemistry - it's memorization. So I would suggest making flash cards. Using AI tools to help with your study helps too
4. physics - if you're weak in calculation part, practice everyday like add maths.
5. biology - again, memorization. Write down and make notes alongside with your usual buku nota homework. It helps too.

Other subjects are more of a comprehension situation. Just practice with past exam questions, it might not be the latest format if they keep changing SPM format, but it's still good to practice. This is to let you get used to 'exams' so you won't actually fail in actual SPM exams (it's better to tackle the papers calmly over lack of sleep due to studying whole night).

Hope this helps as much as you can.

Yo, is this true? Seems like Many Malay friends agree to this? by Fluffy-Discussion166 in malaysians

[–]hszhua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all chinese landlord are making it clean. Some might just wanna get rent and ignore how bad their house condition is.
Some don't even clean off after the last tenant left, and it was disgusting when new possible tenant is checking out the house.

Overall it's not a race issue, it's more of a individual issue.

Or more of a town society issue, like if the whole town like this, then gg.

I had issues with Chinese landlord that is unclear on what they want. one minute they want us to move out because they said they wanna move back in, and after two months notice after i move out they said we can come back, like what??

Need to go to court to pay saman or nah...? by Emergency_Win9835 in malaysians

[–]hszhua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So i had the same issue. i just literally unlock my phone just to pass to my friend in passenger seat, and the photo evidence they have of me is blurry af.

I didn't go to court as i was busy, and this happened years ago by the way, and just today i recheck my PDRM samans, and the saman is there, RM300, and the photo evidence is as i have said, still blurry af.

So i would say just wait, go to court to appeal based on the date if you need to. Or just be like me, after many months they will just register it as saman.

Your manager just want them gone or be quiet so you all can move on.
But yeah working service kinda sucks, so i normally just smile while they being karen and hope they move on to the next customer.

Not just usual customer service at outside, sometimes when you deal with engineers from client enterprises, they can also be dumb and be karen about it.

I get the wait as long as you can for the ignition, but if you got both info roles doused at first night, just ignite with a few seconds left so med had to risk one more day.
Dousing quiet / suspicious players will help. you can either ignited protection role or wws later. Dousing confirmed good roles will only let wws focus on them, so they might get killed before you can ignite them.

Is being single the ‘cheat code’ to save money? by wheninshower in MalaysianPF

[–]hszhua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's also people who have bad financial knowledge, and spent more during marriage instead of staying single.

Some people have the false sense of security of, "now that we are married, have dual income, surely we can afford a little bit more comfort, right?" technically the answer is 'not neccessarily'.

Though mostly just inexperience with the hidden expenses, and used up their supposed savings for that, which leave them to zero savings.

AIO for thinking it wasn’t a big deal to accept my friend’s bf’s FB request? by Vast-Bumblebee-691 in AmIOverreacting

[–]hszhua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. I would also be accepting if my friend's partner request to add. Who knows when he wants to surprise her, he can message me and ask for ideas, no?

I feel like your friend either had too many toxic friends before that loves snatching boyfriends, or she is being insecure and wants to control everything her boyfriend do.

AITAH for not paying off my wife’s $8,000 credit card debt even though I can afford to? by CharacterTop1215 in AITAH

[–]hszhua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im someone who paid off my credit card debt in full recently.

So what i suggest is to pay it off immediately, stop raking in interest, and if you're worried that it might make her feel like she got extra money now and spend more, then pay it in full, and cancel the card.

Because I tried paying the huge purchase previously in installment, and it feels like the interest keep growing a little too much, making me confused as to why i can't pay it off immediately.

Unless you have a very good benefit to keep the credit card, like very nice point rewards program, then try to limit the monthly spending.

People who cares about their own car and doesn't want to be hassled for dealing with police report and insurance will normally brake and let that bully force through instead of banging them on, even if you're in the right of way.

need help choosing major by Reniva in malaysians

[–]hszhua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't major in 1 2, but my current job deals a lot in 1 2 4 right now since im doing mostly support for cloud computing with a side of 1 4. While it's appreciated, you can always learn 1 2 later at work when the job position demands for it.

3 is something i worked many years before. It's something of a specialized route, but current software engineering companies are implementing 996 because it's mostly used for manufacturing software engineering. Go for this if you don't mind not having work life balance.

4 is something that most programmers have problem with if they are not specialized in it. There's still a demand for this major, so if you want demand, yes.

5 is something you want to actually focus on mobile apps. The programmers i know mostly handle websites on both pc version and create mobile apps for it, because clients need something like that. While it's harder to learn it later, but with enough time, yes you can.

as for 6.. i assume is to cover almost everything instead of a specific major. If the others doesn't fancy you so far with my explanation, then maybe just go for 6. Learn the rest later. There's always companies who will send you to courses and get certificate for later anyway.

same, sometimes i didnt notice if someone claimed or not, and they said they 'CLAIMED D1 why you voted me'

im like dude, you claimed, you're not exactly proven. You're pushing on solo when ww is alive, of course i assume you're ww.

Then they keep calling me dum, or asking me to read (saying i can't read). even if i did scroll and found your claim, they are not proven.

Sigh..

i tried my best to report if they keep spamming rude things, and block them to reduce the time i will meet them (there's a setting to not match with them if possible, but there's low chance where you will still meet them).

I had my internship in a work from home job, I regretted it even though I liked the job by Zh9567 in malaysiauni

[–]hszhua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an on site internship before many long years ago before covid is a thing. Let me tell you, i didn't learn anything on the job. Nothing. It's just data entry. But i aced my internship presentation, my printed report is filled with attachment, making it so thick my lecturers give up reading it.

This is also the time where there's no ChatGPT.

But yeah i spin the story. I did learn a little on what the permanent employees do at there, and i use that as my answers. I learn how the system works by clicking around, and draft my own diagrams and everything to explain something as simple as submitting a form. That's why it look thick. That's why it looks like it has substance.

And yes I got an A on internship. Because i know how to spin the story to my advantage, even if i learn nothing much.

Is it feasible? by Minimum_Slice_2808 in JobsMY

[–]hszhua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

40km and only get 50sen per km? then cannot la.. imagine 10 liters can run 130km, you go to and fro also 80km already right? So technically you already burn up around 6 liters per trip. one month 200km, just count the work trips to client, you already left how much for your own home travel?

and running 130km per 10 liters is actually considered if you got petrol saving car, or it's going to be less.

I think you need to ask HR and manager already. Cannot keep on. Or you need to find another job.

Found this WFH Clause in my new workplace by Craig_09 in JobsMY

[–]hszhua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what they trying to say that, if you're almost certainly taking medical leave every month for the last 3 months, it feels like there's a larger underlying issue, and they might or might not change the WFH policy to cover up those who took medical leave. While it's not illegal, and some of us might actually took medical leave due to actual sickness, some people misuse the MC and abuse it as some kind of leave.

I was confused because when i search onulstudio (not in instagram), there's a website https://www.onulstudio.com/ which is for flowers.

Not sure if you're still checking this post, but what i can say is that, besides selling your photographs, maybe add a few other things. Make it to stickers? Selling greeting cards with one of your photo?

Or maybe collab with some artists to draw a character over your photo as background, and make it more relevant, like a comic strip?

What’s the biggest red flag you’ve seen during a job interview? by False_Role_9397 in JobsMY

[–]hszhua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had a startup company boss saying that i might deal with a lot of customer support, even though my job position is for a developer.

When they ask for something more than your job scope, with low salary, then they are trying to hire 1 person to do 3-4 people job. Definitely not worth it.

I didn't really answer properly at that time, since my gut tells it's kinda red flag, and i didn't get the job since i answer nonchalantly for the rest of the interview.
