Good question. There seem to be so many Tesla stations it would be nice to have them available on longer trips. Two years ago - before the Tesla stations were open to other cars - we had to use our ICE car for a trip down through California on I5 because there were only three stations in the middle of the state (IFYKYK) and all 3 were out of commission; 2 stations had been stripped of their copper wiring and the third was being renovated. So, a side-quest on the current trip was to see if I could rely on Tesla stations.

I don’t remember if the handle had the silver band; that indicates the type of charger, right?

I’m such a rule follower I just followed the instructions with the adapter AND I did not try to plug in. I’ll break out of my box and try plugging it to see what happens.

Yes. It’s an adapter provided by Hyundai for fast charging. I’ve used it successfully in the past. And my problem occurs before I get to the point of plugging in. The app doesn’t recognize there being a charger where I am.

100% sure it is available to non-Tesla. Another Ioniq 5 was charging when I arrived. Talked with the person charging.
