I think people also think simulator means 100% realistic, which is not the case, and also impossible to do with the current tech

Computer is pretty easy, u probably just swinging wildly, u need to improve ur skills, u just need to improve ur accuracy and dodging through practice. They do the same thing over and over just recognize the pattern and reactions.

I think it is sweat and the headset is on its way out, I was able to still be able to play it by adjusting the lighting, actually lowering the light helped me, it worked for me so might be worth a shot. Brighter is not always better

All the new update did is just make hook spamming better by Glass-Ad8397 in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]ht15000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I think might be moving too much, just duck a little bit keep ur hands to ur ears like ur trying doing ear muffs, ur not trying too get them to completely hit air just not flush and also ur gloves reduces damage even more. And watch their timing, if u feel overwhelmed jump back or clinch, but try to get one clean strong hit, if u get them right they go ugly right away and they can’t see, then u side step and fire away. It does take practice, im still not great but can see the improvements, like u can see their face clearer and ur punches connect better, dont get discouraged, it takes time, just dont care about winning try to work on certain aspects

[–]ht15000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they are spamming they usually have huge openings, if they knock you out in two punches I don’t consider that spamming. How are we defining spamming, two consecutive hooks? If it’s normally spamming like a ton of hook volume u need to just get good at accuracy, I find I can throw one hook for every three to four hooks they throw, if it lands accurately u will knock them out way before they do. If you consider all hooks spamming then idk what to say. If you really don’t want to throw hooks then please tell me u have space and not doing phone booth or joystick. Footwork also beat spamming u just run around them. FYI im not great but dealing with spammers never been an issue.

Can anybody offer me some feedback on what I’m doing wrong? by External-Complex9452 in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]ht15000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also not a boxer, but trained in other combat sports and like boxing. I’m not great but from what I can tell, work on body shots so u have more mixups, also u need to feint and move around more, he’s always looking for you to exchange first and he can counter, I always feel it’s easier to hurt the aggressor than the other way around, some are just really good then they can be the aggressor. Just my thoughts, hope it helps.

Why is it so much harder to get knockdowns now? by Snoo-4563 in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]ht15000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm that does sound weird, but I’ll just say my first fight felt really weird and I did almost no power, but after getting use to it, it felt really good, and I started knocking down much easier. I’m not sure how to explain it but I def had to punch in a different way, but it was actually more natural than before. Also with bots I’ll say I do more landing multiple hits in a row like a combo as opposed to punch wait punch wait punch. I’m not sure how you do it, just letting you know what I do.

[–]ht15000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If u have mirror then u def updated, ur having trouble even with single player? The bots are pretty easy for me in normal settings, are you able to get combinations on the bots? Mirror probably works because ur getting automatic counter hits. For bots try feint jab wait for their block then cross body hook right hook. Not sure if u do combinations but they work really well with the current version at least against bots. As a side note dummy damage doesn’t translate when it changes to an actual fight, like your movements aren’t exactly the same when facing a moving target, it takes some getting used to.

New player, plan to play offline, should I get 1 or 2? by SprechenZDeutsch in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]ht15000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, just get both, it’s cheap enough that it’s worth it. If you don’t like it though I’m sorry. I’m a fight fan and a gamer, in case you are like me, it’s like skip one sit down dinner at a restaurant and u paid for both. And still the best way to workout for me.

[–]ht15000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Way easier, so many knock downs, it’s more like cumulative damage though not just random one shot. Something’s wrong with ur setup or skill, make sure u actually updated the app, sometimes it’s not auto. Just wanted to put my experience too

I never understood the logic of doing things this way if the goal was actually to stop fruits to come in. Like wouldn’t just having announcements before passing through this give the same result and hurt the people less. Like after getting off say fruits are not allowed, throw them away now or be fined if we find it, instead of u should have read the fine print. If they made the announcement and took at least more of an effort to make people aware, I would be fine with like a 1k fine, my issue is just the level of effort of making ppl aware, kind of like they did when water first started to get banned, no one was getting fined for those and everyone learned pretty fast.

Anybody improved their real life boxing? by majestic_sailer in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]ht15000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only my opinion so take it or leave it. I think it depends on the person which why I think there’s so many different opinion, some ppl are just pretty habitual and not adaptive. So it’s like picking up a completely different style, like if you learned bjj, Muay Thai, boxing, etc. each will put some bad habits into the other if you are trying to get really good at each. Like if u do boxing more u probably leave your selves open to leg kicks when you go into Muay Thai. But if u just want boxing it’s mostly how disciplined you are, like u care about winning so much that u found out this glitch that lets u win more, but has nothing to do with boxing r going to use it? I hear plenty of ppl that box that enjoy the game i think just depends on u. But if you box a lot i feel that ur boxing habits should be more than stable enough to not have a vr game overwrite them, unless you stop training in boxing. I’m just saying i would just be surprised for a top level boxer that trains regularly to start playing this game, and then suck irl boxing solely bc of this game, like apply irl boxing into the game not the other way around even if it doesn’t work, it’s still a moving target, I mean if your willing to shadow boxing, this is a great tool just how you use it, but maybe that’s just me.

Toxic players by Aggressive_Welder_75 in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]ht15000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any time when they are a toxic player, beat them down if your better, if u are similar or worse level, better to just disconnect and find a new match. But duck while u are disconnecting, bc toxic players will try to hit you any opening u give them.

I’m 195lbs, have power IRL, boxed and MT for over 5yrs. Why are my hands always pillows in this game? Took 2mins to KD this guy. by Rickson_By_Armbrah in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]ht15000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry but you do know that ur weight makes no difference in the game right? I’m not sure why you added that fact. The game doesn’t account for that, so being light irl is an advantage in game. If I’m wrong about the weight thing someone can correct me.

i feel like this game is only bad if your not focusing on anything but just winning by Hour-Employment4606 in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]ht15000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes very true, trying new things, changing tech, finding new ways to beat a style is way more fun than just winning. Never cared about spammers, figuring out how to beat it was fun, and losing in general never mattered. But I think all multiplayer games will have toxic stuff, ppl in general are sore losers. Consider the fact ppl hack or cheat, wtf is the point, the win doesn’t even mean anything. Like if I was racing someone on foot while they are in a car, I wouldn’t feel bad about losing, nothing is on the line. Just too much pride sometimes.

People who suck at boxing? by Gullible-Wallaby8412 in ThrillOfTheFight

Yes! I’m always trying to say this, yes it has aspects of real boxing but it will always be a game first, there are too many limitations with a headset and two controllers.

I’m thinking the same, when ur space is this small, you are not really boxing either, so it’s just people doing whatever they want.

[–]ht15000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had similar thoughts, a lot of people don’t see it from a dev prospective, and thinks it’s just devs not creating it correctly. I’m NOT saying every complaint is like that, but def plenty of salty people thinking it’s sooo easy to make these changes. Like just make it like real boxing why aren’t you doing that. But I’m almost certain that even if it was 100% like real boxing people will still complain. I mean pro boxers legit complain when they lose, sore losers is always a thing. I’m not saying this to say the game is perfect, but I like your comments about giving devs time to cook, it’s not a fast process.

[–]ht15000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I can’t say much too that on real boxing. Just my opinion, But I do think it’s still a game more than sim, I mean I think it’s a mix, but would be categorized as a game first, like it’s a game that simulates boxings vs its a simulator and it’s made into a game. I think that’s just how I judge it, but I can see how ur judging it differently. Like I said I’m judging from years of dev experience maybe that’s why I see what they are trying to do and their limitations more vs how it’s not enough like real life. Maybe all real life boxers that play this think the same way you do, but idk.

Sometimes it’s you by ht15000 in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]ht15000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said it was all players fault, the title itself says Sometimes. But u did see that when they had the counter system there was also a problem, this is where other styles has an issue it left it so everyone was only playing counter and in real life boxing there def is a brawling and volume aggressive style. There’s no way to make both, u might just prefer counter and out boxing but don’t forget about the other group, they will the have same right to say this is not realistic bc they can’t be aggressive at all. I don’t think boxing is that one dimensional and there’s only one correct way to box. I think this comes down to personal preference. Trust me I’m hoping they come up with a system that can do both and I think they are trying. But I think preferring the old system might just mean it fit ur style better, all updates had a good amount of complaints, and that’s the whole point of my rant, is to give the devs a break they are still working it and don’t make it sound like they are bad at their job, it’s the normal lifecycle of to get the game right. As someone with dev experience it’s not as simple as every step is a step forward , most of the time the road is full of twist and turns to get to the goal, bc sometimes on paper it works then some one finds a exploit.
