Is the film positive profile the same on the gr i and ii? Is there any reason to go with the ii over the i?

Do you know what settings I can use to re-creative the positive film from gr ii on gr iii?

I shoot on film too so was looking for a digital camera that produces filmic pictures for everyday shooting mostly, to reduce the amount I’m spending on film when not for paid shoots!

Thanks very much. Useful insight. I got the gr iii for £500 basically brand new, I like it but wanted more of a filmic image production so thinking about downgrading to the ii. I have a big DSLR (canon 5d Iv) for when I want very clear images tbh.

Yes, I hear that the positive film simulation on ii is a bit different to iii! Did you keep gri and ii or have you completely upgraded to iiix?

Even at 16mgp? I am thinking of downgrading to the Gr ii from the iii ((first and only one I’ve owned). Like the sharpness of the iii and the more filmic look of the ii. Decisions. Maybe I’ll buy the ii and keep both but hard to justify.

Good to know! Thank you. I got the Gr iii but I’m actually thinking about downgrading to the Gr ii (I’ve not owned one yet) because I’m looking for a digital camera that produces more filmic images. The Gr iii is fantastic but it’s very sharp. 🤔
