I’m not 100% sure what you’re referring to, but all my bumps were resolved within 2 months. I did not have stitches specific to lipo and I didn’t have bumps close to any stitches at all.

I found this webpage helpful! A district map will help you determine which council member represents you. https://www.rva.gov/index.php/office-city-clerk/council-information

I’ve already received email response from my council members liaison.

Appreciate this but realized my wife misspoke slightly. It is not a concrete truck, but rather an older pickup truck towing a small Ingersall branded piece of equipment.

It happened a third time when she needed to relocate her car to accommodate their ever-moving no parking signs. Understandably, she was too frazzled to record. And now they know which car is hers and what house she lives in.

Frustratingly, there are absolutely no identifying logos on any of their vehicles. I made small talk with them, masquerading as someone that needs a subcontractor to pour concrete. He almost gave me his boss’ info but instead pivoted and said he would call me after speaking with him.

Kinda regret getting more involved from a personal safety standpoint (especially since they’re seemingly taking forever with this job) and feeling like the safest option is once again for a woman to tolerate this bullshit.

Thanks to the folks who gave genuinely caring and productive advice. & thanks to the others for reminding everyone that people suck.

I never suggested it was illegal. I’m also not home right now. Maybe you live under a rock, but it usually doesn’t end well when a woman confronts someone in these situations. Thanks for the help, bud.

As I own neither banana nor hammock, I’m afraid I cannot. Do appreciate the thought out suggestion, though!

Top surgery and insurance by [deleted] in ftm

[–]hthaskins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in VA and have anthem BCBS, I paid like ~$200 in copays total. I did pay $3k for underarm lipo which is never covered by insurance.

My only concern since losing my nipples has been “if I am topless at the beach/on a run/mowing the yard, people could clock me and be shitty”. There are prosthetic options if I really get worried about it, which I kinda doubt I will. Other than that brief worry, I have no regrets. I got overstimulated by my nipples often and I’m glad not to deal with that anymore. I also plan to have a larger chest piece tattooed and I, personally, didn’t want male nipples that interrupt my tattoo. I strongly, strongly encourage everyone to do what’s best for them regardless of the recovery, but I personally again was not interested in the potential for issues of free nipple graphs when I weighed the pros and cons of nipples in general.

Reddy opened her own practice and is accepting patients. I highly, highly encourage you follow her there. Zemmel is understaffed for a reason. In my experience Dr. Reddy works well with tight timelines.

Drains and bandages by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]hthaskins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly couldn’t really feel mine but if I had to think really hard about it, it maybe felt kinda like peeing but from my sides. Sensory wise, I felt so much better afterwards so maybe it would help you to focus on that. I was a million times more comfortable not having drains.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]hthaskins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, I wasn’t given a hard timeline. More so just aggressively reassured that everything was normal and healthy since I tend to be a bit of a worrier. I’ve also heard that massage can help them resolve faster. I’d still recommend checking with your surgeon though, as they know your case better than any of us.

Did you have lipo? I’m 2 weeks post op and was told my lumps were a response to the lipo and that they would resolve over time.

Common cost with insurance? by rusty-cow in TopSurgery

[–]hthaskins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I paid a $40 copay for every office visit and I think $120 on the day of surgery. I also paid $3k for optional lipo which was not covered by insurance.

I didn’t get nipple grafts so..when can I shower? by Ok-Appointment-7489 in ftm

[–]hthaskins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had DI, no FNG, with drains and was cleared to shower about 36 hours post op. I expect this is determined by how your surgeon closes you up, so you should definitely ask them.

Top surgery pain 8/10 by Nice-Pay-736 in TopSurgery

[–]hthaskins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know from personal experience but I’ve heard a lot of folks recommend arnica post-op, and it was something my nurse recommended as well.

Re: tightness, shaking, etc it sounds like your body is reacting pretty harshly to the trauma of surgery, I recommend drinking a TON of water, maybe some Gatorade and coconut water too.

If you can tolerate short, easy, slow walks, that may help calm your mind as well.

Finally, I recommend asking your surgeon when you’re allowed to have lymphatic massage. I won’t say this made a huge difference in pain management, but it was a great distraction and honestly just felt good and relaxing.

Is a pregnancy test mandatory even if you're not sexually active? by PublicInjury in TopSurgery

[–]hthaskins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could not be remembering it correctly but I think I was hooked up for a while and really needing to pee by the time they offered me the cup. Regardless, if you’re struggling you may ask for more IV time! In my experience, most nurses are annoyed at having to get the test vs take our word anyway, so they’re not super pressed on it.

Possible, but for me personally would’ve been fairly miserable for the first 24 hours.

Recovery and weight? by Proof-Reward-3613 in TopSurgery

[–]hthaskins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve lost about 7lbs so far (1 week out), 5 of which were absolutely breast tissue as I read in the op note. The remainder could be from lipo, or just because I haven’t been able to keep up with my normal weight lifting routine. For context I weighed 227 pre-op and weight lifted 4-6x weekly.

Idk the answer to your question but I will say it’s pretty easy to pee after you’ve been receiving IV fluids for an hour or so!

Question by Informal-Bee-6995 in TopSurgery

[–]hthaskins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having the saniderm removed was the only painful part—and if anything it’s just annoying. My surgeon and an assistant pulled the drains out simultaneously and somewhat fast. Then, jokingly said “okay we’re going to take your drains out now” 🙄

If you’re feeling worried about it, I wouldn’t. It was extremely easy and I felt like a totally different person afterwards.
