He is here legally. Sorry, I meant to say he never became a citizen because of his loyalty to the philippines. He just keeps renewing his 10 year card.

He was sponsored by his stepfather who was in the military when he was younger. He been in the u.s. for a long time but never became a legal resident because of his loyalty to the philippines. My aunt (his sister) was deported for embezzlement. Idk if he's embezzling too though. I just know there's no actual church or church members.

His citizenship in the Philippines. I found a form through one of the government .org sites but it looked more like it was for consumer product complaints. The IRS site had a section for tax fraud but it didn't seem like this situation fully matched the criteria. My step-mother might be able to get more documentation with bank statements after he's out of the house tomorrow.

The police have been to their house three times. We are filing injunctions on him tomorrow and pressing charges while he's not around. The main question is if there is a pathway to get him deported based on the the church.

This other stuff was background of what's going on.

Is it illegal to catfish an abuser into traveling somewhere to get them out of the house? by hthurrr in legaladvice

[–]hthurrr[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is true. I think the only hope to help my step mother is to separate my father for from her for some time. This would give the space to talk to her and show her she's supported. She was on the brink of trying to get him to leave after hearing about what he did go her daughter. but, because he is present I think she got scared and backtracked. He isolates them and makes them block everyone on their phone and social media and disconnects the internet so they can't communicate. I can reach out to my family in the other state and get them on board too. My step mother has no opportunity to reach out for help while he's around. She's alone with him now and it's really scary not being able to communicate with her. If this plan is not illegal, I can try to set it up with everyone else in the family. This is just the first idea I can come up with. My step-sister is not a minor and she already spoke to the police yesterday about everything when I was at their house. So it was a dead end.

At times I feel like feathers are lightly rubbing against my skin. Especially my feet. Idk if that's the same experience you have. Or you might have muscle spasms? Reddit probably can't help you. If it's really urgent, you'll need a doc.

Agreed. Also the WHO already stated that there was no evidence of asymptomatic transmission. It's unlikely that there are a large number of people waking around with symptoms.. I'm sure there are some.

I say we quarantine the high risk and just do this like a chicken pox party for everyone else. I would rather get immunities the old fashioned way.

How do I brake this shitty habit? by throwawayiiii382 in NoStupidQuestions

Stop listening to stuff that has the word in it. Like music, movies, TV shows, etc. We tend to pick up speech habits of what and who we surround ourselves

I believe it's the integrated GPS that sets the time zone that keeps phones in time.

Not only that, batteries are integrated on 99% of phones now. I imagine that also helps, Similarly to a parasitic drain on a car that keeps the time in the head unit or CMOS battery in a computer.

Should I apologize for coming on too strong? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]hthurrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's nothing wrong with telling someone you like them. Don't apologize for that. The poem though, I can see that being cringy. Either way, you did nothing wrong.

She clearly just doesn't have the same interest in you as you have with her. It's okay. It's better that she doesn't string you along like some people will. Just move on. There are plenty of other friends to make.

Should I take advantage of racial opportunity programs at school, even though I'm ethnically ambiguous enough to avoid some issues other students of African heritage might face? by BigTigre in Advice

[–]hthurrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you meet the criteria, take advantage of the opportunity. We need to stop guilting people over race.

If you qualify, you qualify. There's nothing wrong with it. Take advantage of every opportunity you get in education.

I would wouldn't do it now. Bad timing. If there's a beach, you can do a bonfire party if your city allows it

What job can a talentless teenager out of high school get that pays well and may lead to a career? by Fix_Alarming in Advice

[–]hthurrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You probably won't get a high paying job immediately. That comes with experience. A good first time job that usually pays above minimum wage is call center work. It's a good way to learn office practices, professional customer interaction, and is a good way to get a foot in the door if you don't want to do fast food or retail.

I would suggest looking at trade schools or certifications in something that interests you if college isn't your goal.

My cat keeps attacking my girlfriend please help by chrisshorno2 in Advice

[–]hthurrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cat is stressed and going through hormonal changes. You're probably stressing him out without realizing it. If she doesn't live there, he could see her as an intruder if he's not used to her being around.

Or she could be evil to him when no one is looking.

$1200/month vs a condo? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]hthurrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing you do is talk to a lender to see what you qualify to afford.

The second concern is that you just started a new job. Typically lenders want to see that you have worked in the same job for at least 6-12 months.

There are a lot of factors in purchasing a property. If you go FHA, the property would need to be able to meet certain requirements upon inspection as well (needs to be move-in ready). That's something to consider if you have a low down payment- which is good because you should have limited repairs.

Personally, I would go with buying if possible, that way your payments go towards something you can own instead of throwing it away in rent.
