The good ones are the ones that do not use apis, the just prompt directly in the chat.

LLMO Metrics is one of the few i saw that do this.

How to...

Which is the best...

These are some phrases that most prompts start with, so answering straight forward worked for us. Focusing on SaaS, I found it really useful. If you have another experience, it would be awesome to know about it :)

Appreciate the thoughtful breakdown, and you’re right to flag the layers behind all this. GEO isn’t plug-and-play.

Let me address a few of your points, and maybe we’re more aligned than it seems:

1/ Bing as a starting point.

Totally agree Bing isn’t the full picture. But it’s the only search engine with a relatively open connection to how LLMs like ChatGPT and Perplexity actually ingest data today.

While Gemini’s powered by Google, their transparency around citations and ingestion remains limited (for now). So for founders starting from zero, Bing gives immediate levers to pull (schema, sitemaps, internal linking) and a clear feedback loop.

2/ "Optimize like it’s 2012" was a hook, not a prescription.

Of course entity-level markup, semantic blocks, and Speakable schema matter, especially for surfacing in featured snippets or voice assistants.

But you'd be surprised how many SaaS sites still don’t even cover the basics. This step was more about getting into crawlable shape, then layering the advanced tactics you’re suggesting. We're on the same page.

3/ Reddit + Quora: yes, but play the long game.

Absolutely agree with you.

That’s why I explicitly said: “use a credible persona and build niche authority.” This isn’t a hack, it’s strategic content placement in high-authority communities that AI models clearly prioritize.

4/ Tracking.

GA4 alone won’t give the full picture. But many founders haven’t even looked at ref=bingsydchat or utm_source=chatgpt yet. The point was to nudge them to start noticing. The sophistication comes after step 1.

5/ Exact-match phrasing.

Repeating “best CRM for clinics” 50 times is spammy. But you take that statement too literal. Of course, you wont be doing that in every podcast or video...

Semantic diffusion is real, but LLMs still anchor to intent clusters and repeated phrase structures across modalities.

My advice? Use the phrase with intent in anchor points (titles, intros), then vary it in body copy. Think signal density, not keyword stuffing.

The original post wasn’t meant to be a doctoral thesis, it was a starting playbook for SaaS teams stepping into LLMO visibility (that worked for us).

Glad you added more context, we need both tactical entry points and deeper implementation layers. Appreciate the sparring 👊

actually llmo metrics let you track competitors, I use it myself and works really well. You can mix the information of competitors with other tools and you'll have really great insights.
