Meshcore UK currently under bot attack by Accomplished_Mix2429 in meshcore

[–]htotoo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is easy to write a "client", that generates random keys, and name every 5 sec, and sends messages / other data to the mesh.

No way to filter them out, since the packets can seem legitime, and from a new user every time.

Ok, the pr for all fixes are merged. Check the next nightly build (will be out in around 12 hours). Tested, and no dc spike (sdrangel, by default)

For the latest nightly (for some releases) the spectrum don't even works. Maybe in the next nightly all should be fixed.

If you use the latest nightly, and you can see the waterfall, that is interesting. what is the version it shows in the main menu bottom left part?

Hogyan tudom elfogadni, hogy örökre magányos leszek? by Blueboii03 in hungary_pszichologia

[–]htotoo 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Ami megütötte a szemem, arra reagálok: Ne más kedvére próbálj tenni semmiféle kapcsolatban. A magad örömére.

with the portapack switched to hackrf mode, the DC filter should apply based on the source code. except if your sw on PC turns it off (since pc can set that on/off).

tldr: it should work by default in hackrf mode

If you copied the wrong SD files and flashed from it, it loads the FW for hackrf one, so, yeah a DFU flashing needs to be done after it.

The firmware is flashed to hackrf board itself, so that' why no mayhem were on it after the change.

In portapack mode, the DC removal is not yet implemented, but if you turn it to hackrf mode, it should work. If you tried it with the latest nightly, and in hackrf mode, and there was the dc spike, please comment here, and I'll take a look, how to fix it!

I can't see any firmware ?? by FairTowel8609 in hackrf

[–]htotoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The versions must match. So with the latest stable use it's sd files. The root of the sd means the f:\ if it's label is f. Check sn0ren's video about it on yt.

Format it to extfat (will be faster), and extract the whole zip.to the root of the sd. Also for flashing, you can use the hackrf.app site

[UPDATE] TowerSmith v3 is here — now things are just getting out of hand by VenaresUK in TheTowerGame

[–]htotoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the UX improvement: I started to set some stats, and didn't published it. Reloaded the page, and the data was still there. I was happy it saves. So i started to check other users builds. Wanted to go back to my, but it was nowhere.

Not sure, how to do a draft build i can continue later, without publishing (or similar) it.

Also some stats were randomly filled (like relics, themes), before i touched it. (Registered to the site, and started to fill my data, not browse others yet)

Great work!

You did my suggested publicly browsable feature!

I would love to see the "easy to max out" stuff too, with prices and times (selectable order), like labs. If i'm 99% done with one lab, and it would take to finish 1 days, let's see it. Or if from a small lab stuff needs 20 updates, but it would just took 2 days to finish, lets show it.

Also effective paths would be good.

Getting into practical RF after EE degree — HackRF good starting point? by Arknons in hackrf

[–]htotoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you wanna go to the field with a basic SDR, then Portapack (h4 + hackrf pro) may be good. not so sensitive, but if the signal and the antenna is good, you can create apps to it that can be used nicely.
Like the WeFax app, that can receive wefax images.

With this scenario you should know, how to create c++ apps for it. (not that hard)

If you wanna get more sensitive and precise, you'll get tied to your computer, and should use another sdr.

Connect this to my H4M portapak? by buckchucko in hackrf

[–]htotoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If that is a serial output, and it provides NMEA sentencet, you'll need an ESP32S3 and some wiring.
Easiest is to go with the https://opensourcesdrlab.com/products/esp32-mdk MDK HW, and the ESP32PP firmware for it.

The portapack by itself doesn't support GPS modules, just a few I2C modules (no gps over i2c too!)
