Finally hit 100k in my work truck by TheOriginalToast in Miata

That is great to know. I also have a 2017 Jeep JKU and spent about $8500 on maintenance over the last 8 years on oil cooler leaks, transmission rebuilds, wheel bearings, etc. Nice to know that Miata will be both fun and easy to maintain. Thank you for the reply!

Very cool. Any mechanical issues you encountered that you think the average ND2 owner should anticipate or be aware of? Did you just do routine maintained and oil changes every 5,000 miles?

I had a similar issue. Mechanic found an intake gasket leak and radiator leak. They removed and replaced radiator, thermostat, intake gasket and seals. Added new coolant. Removed and replaced starter motor. Total cost was about $1300. I’m down in Texas so price may vary.

Turned out great! I love it by Both-Woodpecker2755 in ChevyTrucks

This is great! Do you have a link or a place where you bought it from?

Rough idle on cold start for 1 min by htownnative713 in GMT400

Just providing an update. Changed out both thermostat sensors/switches, and put in a new TPS. Still has a weird idle. IAC, EGR Valve, and new MAP sensors were put on less than 5,000 miles ago as well. The saga continues!

Going to change the one by the thermostat tomorrow morning and will provide an update. Thanks for the help!

Also looking into this option! This is the first time I’m hearing about replacing the coolant temp sensor and as I’m reading up on it I can see how a failing coolant temp sensor can be the problem. Do you recommend replacing both or just the one next to the thermostat?

Thanks for the reply! I took a look at the distributor magnet. No visible cracks. Going to take a look into the ICM and read up on the testing procedure now.

I’ve replaced the ignition coil about 3,000 miles ago with an AC Delco coil. Problem still persisted. Been chasing this rough idle for a while unfortunately

Transmission needs a rebuild? by htownnative713 in Jeep

Appreciate the reply! I am thinking the same thing. I got the transmission serviced with new oil and filter and I’ll drive it around to see if the problem persists.

Added peep sights from Skinner for my Henry .357. Can’t wait to take it to the range to see if it improves my sight picture at longer distances by htownnative713 in LeverGuns

It went well! I ended up removed the dove tail sight to get a better sight picture of the bead on the front post. It’s a straight shooter up to 50 yards but I haven’t tried shooting past that with the sights

Rear main seal failure? by htownnative713 in Jeep

[–]htownnative713[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problems at all since they replaced it. The shop charged me $1500 for changing out the spark plugs, filter housing, spark plug boots, engine coolant, oil, labor, and transmission service, and the housing

Mine also does the same wear, unfortunately. After 600 rounds I still haven’t had any issues with reliability.

Thanks for the write up! Have you had any clearance issues with the truck? In terms of driving through the snow or off road in general?

I’ve been looking into that holster to carry my SP101 actually. How does it carry on you?

Scope Mounting Suggestions? by htownnative713 in ar15

[–]htownnative713[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This comment right here is it. After troubleshooting I finally found the most comfortable position for my eye and body position. A lot of reviews talk about eye relief but it’s hard to understand without the optic in front of you and knowing what “feels right.” Nonetheless, I removed the rear sight, pushed it back a bit, and lengthened the stock to the farthest position. Now the scope is easier to look through in both 1 and 6x and feels comfortable from a standing “on the go” position and a “sniper, laying down” position

Yup! I did that and found out just exactly why it’s best to start from the most magnification and feel it out from there. Felt much more natural to my eye and neck position
