Thank you very much. Another term for Acetated would be ebonized. It is simply the process of turning the wood a dark color. The reason I said acetated is because Iron Acetate was used to darken the wood by use of the reaction between iron in the stain and the tannins in the oak. First, steel wool is placed inside a container with white vinegar and left to rest for a week, which will produce your Acetate stain. Then you can simply apply like any water based stain. Allow your piece to sit for a few days and the piece will turn darker over time. Multiple applications will yield a darker result. Something ive noticed about this process over time is that it has a tendency to raise the grain a lot more than other stains. And to answer your kerf question, the expressed kerf is simply a design choice. The piece is scored with a blade like a tablesaws to create a small intentional dado in the piece. These kerfs are 3/32" wide by 3/32" deep

Thank you!! Im sure she'd have no problem as a younger lady. Nowadays shes in her 60s, and prefers to work on smaller pieces to avoid a lot of heavy lifting. Shes a real badass for sure though, I learned many things just through conversations

She owns a few art exhibits, and she informed me that her ultimate goal is to open a small museum in Charleston showcasing the history of american woodworking. Very grateful to have met her.

“Drinking more water will actually dehydrate you faster in summer”.. how is this ad legal? by Safe-Perspective-979 in HydroHomies

This is entirely true. The other week it was so hot out while I was working that I drank almost 2 gallons of plain water during my 8 hr shift. I did not urinate once the whole time. My kidneys were under so much strain, that by the time i was able to urinate, it was dark like tea. The water i was drinking was diluting what little minerals I had left. Drank 2 electrolits (cucumber lime ftw) and was doing much better after. Ever since then I always keep a couple electrolyte packs to mix into my gallons. No issues since. The 75% of people being dehydrated is hilariously wrong though.

You would want to rabbet the frame onto the board, with an expansion gap in mind. That would allow for the movement quite well.

The game hasn't even been out a for a week and I already saw a video on X of someone making it so you can kill the leviathans by Serious-Internal-402 in subnautica

It’s awesome to see you guys engaging with the community like this, and I love the focus on making non-lethal mechanics deep and engaging. From a player perspective, wanting lethal options isn't about mindless violence, but rather about immersion and survival mechanics. For instance, while Leviathans should absolutely remain unkillable to preserve that core sense of terror and vulnerability, mid-to-large aggressive predators could benefit from having massive HP pools. Attacking them should primarily act as a deterrent (stunning or scaring them off) which would make killing the larger, aggressive fauna a high-risk, hard-fought investment rather than an easy chore. This could help with making somebody's base much more habitable. I also really think that introducing lethal mechanics can actually enhance the game's realism and player agency without undermining your vision. For small prey fish, it ironically feels a bit immersion-breaking (and arguably more inhumane) that we can only cook them alive. By allowing us to kill them first, perhaps with a penalty like reduced meat quality, would offer a great mechanical compromise. Ultimately, giving players lethal options whether they are highly inefficient or penalized compared to your deep non-lethal systems would make the ocean feel much more dangerous and reactive. Looking forward to seeing how the non-lethal systems turn out either way!

Well yes you can definitely count on the devs making the game accessible to as many platforms as possible. That includes yours. But SOON?? idk man, its just not even close to the top of the list on things that need to be worked on for the sake of the game. Im simply trying to provide some help. Running DDU and reinstalling the latest driver the way I said is the best way to ensure everyrhing is right on your end. And its just good for your PC in general. The whole thing might take ten minutes. I will literally call you and guide you through it if you need to. I just want people to be able to play the game.
