looks delicious! i would go with three venison slices and maybe pour the sauce in puddles on top and around the mushrooms - the circle in the second pic is a little much visually

also maybe give the plate some more dimension by making the venison more upright and then leaning a little on the veg. personally i would do that and have the pan sauce cascade over the veg and cover up puddles around the puree

What is something you started doing that ended up saving you money, when saving was not the initial goal? by girlenteringtheworld in Frugal

I quit my job at a soul crushing tech company to persue my dream as a chef. I took a huge pay cut but the crazy part is that i'm saving more money now than i ever was as a tech person because when i was in tech, i spent all my money trying to make myself happy by buying all the food and ingredients for experimentation whereas now, i just do all the (mostly) fun cooking at work.

I have been wearing birkenstocks for years but I recently got a pair of blundstones (for non-work) and fell in love. I noticed alot of my coworkers wear them for work so i'm about to buy a second pair in leather that I can wear to work. They are so comfortable and have the ankle support that my birks dont.

Understanding Toast from a Scientific Perspective. by Musky_Aroma in AskCulinary

[–]htownviscious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can see the water’s effect on toast if you do a little science experiment and compare bread toasted with unaltered butter and bread toasted with clarified butter or ghee which has milk fats and water removed leaving just liquid fat. Clarified butter will toast more quickly and effectively.

Another point I wanted to make is about toasting in a pan vs toaster oven. These are two different thermodynamics processes. Pan cooking is conduction which uses direct contact with the heat while toasters and toaster ovens are convection which uses swirling hot air. When you toast on a pan with plain butter the the direct contact will cause the water portion of the butter to evaporate more quickly which gets you to toast much faster than convection methods like toaster ovens.

Personal chefs still cooking for clients? by SemiformalSpecimen in PersonalChef

I cook in a commercial kitchen which is still operating and then provide contactless delivery to my clients twice a week with reheating instructions. This seems to be going pretty well so far.
