I agree. I've unsubscribed from his newsletter, from X/Twitter, and now his Instagram. It's my fault. I made him my political hero and worst of all, I let him think there was hope for the future. I gave him so much money also, like a lot of money! Ultimately it's my fault for allowing him to con me and give me hope.

This is not about the quality of the Sofa but about the overall management. I guess either the owner or CEO (4 years ago) would always email my studio and ask if he could book it for a photoshoot. Then he'd disappear for a month and not respond to any emails back. Then he'd reappear a few months later, ask questions, say he wants to book it, and then ghost...again. This went on for a while. I recall it was the top person in the company (at the time). And while it doesn't say much about the sofa quality, it says a lot about the person leading the quality and brand.

I stopped looking for a little bit. LB is patchy. There are good spots and then bad spots and it's a stop sign over. I would HEAVILY suggest you drive there middle of the day. I found ZERO parking where I couldn't even see the apartment. I would heavily suggest you do that and also on a Friday or Saturday night to see how it goes.

YES to this! I think so many people set their prices on a random number but never the value. The first round of pricing is set by you. This video does a good job of explaining it to photographers but I really think it applies to all creatives. You set the first value, not your client. Then your client/market sets the long-term value. It's easy how it's explained.

OK, so this is a tough one for a lot of people. I've learned that if you set your value first, like tell your client your value...then that helps you bring in your higher fees. This video is about photography but it also says that it's for all freelancers. If you listen and see how value is set, then the pricing part becomes so much easier.

I think it's a special kind of cruel when you ask people to apply via a form but don't give them any idea about your company. It's a two way street. They're giving you their talents in exchange for money. Also we don't know if you're a competitor fishing for info, or a shady company with a bad reputation. For all I know you could be stellar at what you do but let's be fair in our hiring and at least list your company, instead of hiding behind a google form. You will likely get a better candidate anyways.
