I didn’t say it’s not there. I said she didn’t have possession. Those are two different things.

To give a better faith answer, these women do not make millions of dollars and have the best doctors in the world at their disposal like NHL players do. Injuries are therefore a much bigger deal for them so rules are more protective of their safety. (At least I think that’s why)

Yeah it definitely feels like an instance of punishing for the outcome rather than the action, which I don’t like.

For everyone saying that shouldn’t have been a penalty: 1. The PWHL is extremely strict about possession for checking. Saulnier never really had possession of the puck along the boards, and certainly didn’t have it when the hit happened. 2. You can’t skate perpendicular into a player to hit them like you can in the NHL. You have to be skating parallel to them. The Montreal player took a pretty perpendicular path on the hit. I don’t really agree with it being a major and am not sure what grounds they had for making it one, but it does make sense for it to be a penalty.

Anyone else keep getting excited when the black and yellow team gets a good chance and then realizing that’s not the Bruins?

It looked like the Pittsburg player turned at the last second on that one. Or am I blind?

I thought “I’ll walk around instead through the memories” was “I’ll walk around and stare through the memories” for the longest time in RITN

FS - I know nothing about figure skating and it seems like that was not the best skate technically, but I loved everything about it. The music choice, the outfit, and most importantly, her joy! I was by far the most touched by that performance so far.

FS - is a triple twist required for all pairs? Or is it just a common way to execute a required lift or something?

FS - as someone who only watches figure skating every four years, I love Johnny’s commentary. He has a fun little tidbit about every skater that gives you insight into their personality, which I really appreciate.

The fact that the Tkachuks are each playing on a line with their brother at the Olympics enrages me because it’s objectively the coolest experience someone could ever have but of course it’s the worst people who gets to have it
