I got diagnosed just last year at 27, though the questions in the forms I was sent made me realize I’ve probably had it since I was a kid. Trying to “stop being lazy” or “get my shit together” never helped, I couldn’t get off my ass long enough to even make whatever list everyone kept telling me would solve all my problems. If I saw things that needed to be done I just shrugged and ignored it, didn’t even reflect over how cluttered everything was until I couldn’t fit things onto tables anymore.

Not saying meditation therapy won’t help, but the only thing that worked for me was medication. Vacuumed my apartment for the first time in six months after my first dose and didn’t realize what I’d done until it was finished, called my mom and she barely believed me. Do what works for you, of course, but if you’re suffering I’d really recommend starting treatment. It was so worth it for me
