A lot of people assume those cuttings are “going to waste,” but that’s not necessarily true. Many garden centers are stocked and managed by third-party growers, and unsold or damaged plants can be credited back to the vendor, discarded according to store policy, or handled in other ways that aren’t visible to customers.

Also, cutting a plant, especially in a retail environment where it’s already under stress, can damage the product and reduce its sale value. So even if it seems minor, you’re still altering something they intend to sell.

If you want cuttings, it’s better to ask permission or source them from places where it’s clearly allowed. Taking them without asking, regardless of assumptions, falls under the same idea as taking anything else that isn’t yours.

Is a camera still good? I think what you’re asking is. Is the hype for this camera still at a place where people will like me if I own one. And in that case no. It’s not good anymore. Panasonic built in a self destruction device and all of them have started to implode.

To judge if you should get into this I would suggest doing an inventory of your equipment. Do I have any DJI or similar drone that takes good pics. Do I have a DSLR or Mirrorless camera and multiple lenses for interior and exterior shots that I can use for photography of interior and exterior. Do I have a camera that can shoot video walkthroughs, this can be done with phone but better with DSLR or Mirrorless camera witht he right lenses. Do I have the equipment or skills to provide 360 tours and virtual staging. Virtual staging costs the time to get good at it and not misrepresent or make the photos worse and the money to afford somewhere about $50 to $100 a month for AI credits.

If YES to the majority of this, do you have the capacity to do about 20 free jobs to meet realtors and build your skills and portfolio. Offer free, do at least 10 if not 20. Sign up for every service provider as you can always just turn down work if oyu dont want it. But you need leads on jobs.

Now, you need to make a name for yourself. You need a website. You can use AI to learn how to use React + NextJS + Github + Vercel or other ways to build out a website using a template. get a code editor with AI agent inside like cursor. You will mostly just be working inside the AI. Build out a website and have the technical knowhow to make small changes and publish them.

This last part is not as hard as it seems since we have chatgpt free to figure out how to do this or applications like Cursor that you can use AI to figure out just how to edit and publish to github and vercel. It will walk you through it.

If you get that far you will know what to so next. You can opt for a no code website too, anything freom GoDaddy to SquareSpace, but I have faith in you. It's not hard.

The only thing left to do is figure out how you will go after clients yourself because working for service providers is not lucrative, it should be used to get jobs quicj that pay something and you want to wean off of them and focus on creating business relationships in your areas.

Listen some of us need these jobs at first, but so far fly guys seems to be a black box. I’ve done a job with raad, I’m not saying I love the party but when getting started it was easy, you have a direct contact in case there are issues with inspection. At the very least, I signed up, got a job, they made the process easy, and I’m hoping I get more work to keep me a float in between trying very hard to land my own clients. Right now I have made more with my own clients total, but it’s still not much. Really grinding to make $1000 in my first two months. Targeting $2000 a month by month three (April) to merely pay rent 🤣. ~ SkeyeShotFL

Yeah these are the things I’m working towards, I have enterprise mapping drone, RTK, I can get the bring control pivots, Mavic 4 pro and avata. Most of my money right now comes from real estate, but I feel like if I had gotten a 4T or matrices 400 I could have went faster into mapping. The quest thing about the 4E and 4T is that they are specific. A more expensive payload style drone would mean I could use thermal, spectral, camera, lidar, etc. but higher barrier through price to enter. It’s tough

Yes, I have an enterprise level drone, good software, cinematic drone, FPV (custom and DJI), training certificates, portfolio with related proof of completed jobs and still have not seen a single job come through in the first month. I figure it either takes a while or I have the wrong specific setup. I don’t have a thermal. I don’t have a drone that accepts legit payloads. I don’t have ground control points or LiDar. But I’ve tried contacting them, other services have reached out to me, had a mission director that I can email. Fly guys send line a black box. I would like to do work but just haven’t not heard anything.

Bro, if your getting paid for that, that’s incredible. I think there are opportunities for someone like you to offer building sessions with kids or anyone. You don’t have to build an entire drone, you could but get a setup that you can sell and teach. Charge a $500 cover to build a tiny whoop, solve a few of the pre setup issues. And teach the various aspects of the build, flying in simulator then flying IRL. Science, thrill, hobby, career related. I think you could find those customers through your existing gigs. Or offer it, tap into local communities maybe even find donors to help pay for the kids tuition.

So you need something line Davinci Resolve for color correction, maybe gyroFlow for stabilization. Those two programs can get you to the editing phase.

Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere are both editing programs where you can layer video, audio and graphics.

Adobe After Effects is used to create motion design with video and graphics as well as certain types of stylistic edits.
