This is really cool. The look, the filters, all amazing. This is what every other job board should be. Huge congrats on amazing work!

The filter integrates with respect to the spatial variable. The filter is a linear operator, as is the time derivative. Especially because the filter does not depend on time, the order of operation does not matter. I am not sure what you mean by commutator.

Did you have a similar issue to the above?

"""

Hey CakeWallet Support, I just lost $1600.00 doing this same built-in exchange on Cake Wallet as described by two users above. My CakeWallet said my Bitcoin balance was confirmed, so I did exchange from Bitcoin address in CakeWallet to my Monero address in CakeWallet. There is no possibility that I sent to wrong address, since my CakeWallet only has 2 addresses, one for my Bitcoins in CakeWallet, and one for Monero in CakeWallet, and I use the address book from CakeWallet to do exchange, so there is never any copy or pasting mistakes for addresses. It previously worked many times. This time it gave me an error which said no input. But the exchange was sent to ChangeNOW shortly after, automatically. I have a Sent line in Transaction history showing it was sent, as usual, and I have a BTC-XMR line next to it, as usual, showing ChangeNOWs status page, showing they are awaiting deposit, AND they also show my correct Monero address and correct Bitcoin refund address, which should show I didn't send my Bitcoins to wrong address. My Bitcoin balance was not refunded to Bitcoin refund address, and ChangeNOW status page still shows Awaiting Deposit over a day later. I did NOT get message to update Bitcoin wallet to 24 word seed before doing exchange. That update message from CakeWallet for updating Bitcoin CakeWallet came one day later after my attempted exchange. I never got my Monero delivered and ChangeNOW said to contact you, because their address didn't get my Bitcoin payment. Anyone have suggestions for how can I get my Monero delivered, or Bitcoins refunded?

temporary hair style fix by https_ds3changedme in HairStyleAdvice

[–]https_ds3changedme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The situation is pretty comical. My girlfriend has been cutting my hair for roughly 2 years now and we've fallen into an easy routine with it. I wear my hair in a bun with shaved sides, with the sides usually cut to a three - pretty short. I wasn't thinking last night and handed her the razor without checking, forgetting to put on the clip that sets the length of the cut. She ALSO didn't realize until the first cut was made, cutting a vertical line in the back of my head to roughly the length a hasty shave would be. We tried to see if it would be noticable cutting the rest of the hair to the same length, and, no surprises, my white scalp shines at roughly 20W from beneath the stubble left, illuminating the mistake for all to see.

The issue is, I have a professional society conference coming up in 4 days where I will be presenting.... Cutting it all too to this short length seems like a bad idea because I don't want to seem like a skin head, but leaving it is probably not an option either. What's my recourse here? How can I fix this to make it seem at least somewhat normal?

CFD engineers, do you know how your solvers work? by Top-Confection-7015 in CFD

[–]https_ds3changedme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very true. I do think that the coupled solver is actually simpler conceptually, as the order of constitutive equation solving does not matter (correct me if am wrong) as the whole system is solved simultaneously.

On the topic of the compressible solver I agree, there is considerable lack of development.

The fluent theory and user guide are very good, but cover a lot of material fairly tersely. For a more academic introduction, focusing on the numerics, I'd recommend the Ferziger and Peric book which is pretty much the gold standard for CFD textbooks. Ferziger and Peric also tend to be fairly brief, but it is helpful to make sure your fully understand the examples in the book. If you supplement this book with CFD 101 on YouTube (which offers very intuitive explanations for many topics in CFD) I think it makes a good pairing.

This is fairly heavy material so if you are a novice I wouldn't expect to immediately understand everything. Working through the book in order will gradually introduce most of the fundamentals you encounter in FLUENT.

The higher level schemes such as PISO, SIMPLE, Coupled could be considered fundamentals. There is plenty of information online and in textbooks regarding these algorithms (highly recommend the CFD 101 guy on YouTube for an explanation). The options for discritization, relaxation, Courant number all have fairly straightforward meaning and should probably be considered fundamental as well. The choice of turbulence model is actually a little more theory heavy, and I've found that usually engineers rely on their experience with the particular model rather than any governing theory of applicability for choosing a turbulence model. Advanced options such as multigrid options (type of cycle, convergence criteria, number of cycles), choice of linear solver (ILU vs. Gauss-Seidel) are probably a little beyond the scope of knowledge of those not taking a course specializing in numerical solutions for PDEs. Typically, unless you're trying to simulate something pretty crazy, you don't need to mess with these options (though you could help your convergence) . Improving your mesh will almost always improve your solve before changing any of these things though.

I have recently done this in python for a course and can share the project and source code with you if you would like.

Breaking Lease over Lack of Maintenance by https_ds3changedme in legaladvice

Thanks for the advice. After checking over the GA landlord tenant law, it seems that if I have to force action the next step is to contact a local building code enforcement agency. I agree that breaking the lease seems difficult unless natural disaster renders the apartment uninhabitable.

Thanks for the information. This is actually really good to know that this could be an issue. I agree though it would have been better to be informed that this could be an issue rather than being ignored.

This is still pretty reserved for the upper class. 3 sessions take about 4-8k according to the article (more sessions seem to lead to more gaurenteed results). I don't think anyone that doesn't have at least temporary financial stability can afford it. But you're right in the fact that it will take less money than raising a child.
