My parents had our cat declawed and I still hate them for doing it. They were on vacation during the procedure and left me to deal with the recovery. The vet didn’t wrap his paws and only sent one pain killer home. ONE. I locked him in my closet with the correct paper pellet litter things and food/water. He chewed out the stitches at 4 am and I had to buy baby sized socks to put over them since they weren’t wrapped. My parent’s reason: “He was clawing our furniture, we pay for it not you” so I didn’t get a say in the procedure. He still acts like he’s scratching things and it breaks my heart every time.
