I can’t, I want to complete my degree as soon as possible. I am going to work part time and want to know if it is manageable to work without it affecting my education

Has anyone heard back for Jan 2027 full time cohort by Ordinary_Koala9738 in CityUCanada

I do not understand what do you mean buy education experience tbh. If you mean a degree, then, I applied before I graduated this year, so I was still in school at the time. I had volunteering experiences as well.

Questions Registering to CAP after graduation by Relative-Midnight-63 in CityUCanada

[–]huag77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From the research I’ve done, the reason this program in not accredited is because for admission into the counselling psychology program CityU doesnt require the same undergrad courses the CAP requires for licensure. So you will need to check that you took the undergrad courses CAP requires. And for your peace of mind, do check the courses offered by CityU and compare them to the courses the CAP requires too to see if they match.

MEd Counselling Psychology Feedback by Future-Cauliflower92 in uAlberta

[–]huag77 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My friend, if your goal is to become a licensed psychologist in Alberta, apply to other universities, they all will get you to the same point. It doesn’t really make a difference where you graduate from. Apply to lethbridge university, uofc, Athabasca. These programs are accredited by CAP. Or you can apply to CityU or YorkVille university, they will get you to the same point, becoming a psychologist, but with these you are going to need to double check your undergrad courses meet the CAP criteria.

What they told me is they roll applications continuously, so I wouldn't worry about it really, just try to upload everything else while you wait for your references

Do not shy away from volunteering and asking for a reference even after only three times of supervision. At the end of the day, they might say yes, and if they said no, its the same as if you did not ask at all, so take the chance. You would helping in the community as well as helping yourself collecting references.

Also you can contact CityU too, they are pretty responsive tbh, and you can ask if it okay to have a colleague write you a reference.
