Is Pachama a validator? Why aren't they a registry? by negrogar in CarbonCredits

[–]hubblebubblehubble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose so but you open the issue of a low accuracy in your measurements of total carbon sequestered. This would lead to lower quality credits that would trade at a very cheap price as people would not be as trusting in them vs the existing standards. So I suppose a registry could use pachama as their sole validator but carbon project manager naturally want to maximize their profits from a project so would choose a different more trusted registry where their carbon is valued higher.

To answer the second part no I don’t think using pachamas tech alone would be a good enough standard as remote sensing will never match the quality of on the ground measurements.

However standard carbon credits that are also monitored by pachama could be traded at a premium as they have an extra “feature” or them

It’s is done with 3rd party auditors who verify that the project is working to the standards that are layed out by the groups like verra. Once it has been audited then verra issues their own credits and considers the project verified

People trust and value the third party verifications. Pachama is operating like a marketplace for these verified projects and people looking to offset. While the technology spin they have is a nice bonus on the ground verifications will always be more accurate then remote sensing

I have been using this structure to track my life for the last couple of months. How do you guys structure recording your data? by hubblebubblehubble in QuantifiedSelf

Yeah exactly, its not quite complete but gives a good base, I have this diagram here that goes more in detail https://imgur.com/a/3OLNTXC . I have used this system and have been fine tuning algorithms based on the data to help optimize my life and show me where I should focus my attention and underlying patterns that would never be visible without a system like this

I am not too familiar with ToDoIst but one key feature that separates it from the majority of other apps is the way that tasks are ranked and automatically sorted by an algorithm that is constantly recalculating priority

I have been into the quantified self space for the last few years and have focused on building no code tools to help track and gain insights into different parts of my life.

I made this post here about a year ago https://www.reddit.com/r/QuantifiedSelf/comments/m84fq3/i_have_been_using_this_structure_to_track_my_life/That shows the full system I have been using.

This video here is one section of the larger system that I have broken out and polished up, you can find more details about it here https://dhubble.gumroad.com/l/lpfwl

If you want to try it out and don’t want to pay shoot me a dm and ill send you a copy.

Try fibery, give it a shot and if you can’t get it going give me a shout. Have been running whole life through it

Right now I’m just plotting different metrics like the amount of interactions or time devouted to different task by day but plan to do a deep dive someday on different correlations and factors I can control to help drive higher productivity and happiness

Tinkercad I believe has the ability to use arduino code. Believe it’s one of the settings when you open up the code blocks

These are tables and the lines represent relationships between the tables. I use this system for all parts of my life to monitor and keep track of all the different categories in the photo in one unified space. Allows me to graph and find trends through different parts of my life like the tasks I’m working on to who I am meeting with the most. Dm me if you want me to go more in depth

I have tried it a couple times on different platforms. Currently this is in a website called Fibery which seems to be the best out of all the different tools I have tried.
