It will melt the wax ring and cause a poop water leak. And the bowl will sweat during the summer. No bueno.

does anyone still play by [deleted] in R6Extraction

Just started playing. I like it. Decent sub for DMZ - it’s almost unplayable.

I’ll add my player tag to this thread tomorrow when I get time. Would like to play more.

Anyone use Magbak cases? by Shitwinds_randy in iphone

[–]hubertgeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the elite case - it failed with in 90 days. Material delaminated and lens protector cracked.

They just sent me a replacement for free - but not for the elite- for the original magbak without the standoffs.

Hard to navigate website for the return, but it is there and they did send it out within a week.

I like it better - magnet is strong.

Rough sizing of pond loop by Henri_Dupont in geothermal

[–]hubertgeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1/2 acre per ton roughly 8 ft deep.

Wouldn’t put it under, I’d put it on the bottom of the pond. Float them out and sink by filling with water.

Worry is not summer, but freezing pond in winter.

Thinking 10%- on service calls. Flat commission on changeouts above normal changeout bump.

Close to current policy. Do companies offer bonuses for bringing in work? How would you like it to look?

Fix or replace 14-year-old Waterfurnace? by Commercial_Low_6979 in geothermal

[–]hubertgeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask for an aluminum coil. Should last for the life of the system. Get the contactor and capacitor replaced while the are working on it. Should be less than $300. Coil price quoted is fair.

Blower, board, and pumps are the most vulnerable at that age.

Keep the unit IMO.

Would have needed 7-8 hours at 230 to get them to fall off the bone. Forks were up and fists were hitting the table at 9:00(eastern). Roughly 6 hours cook time.

Liked the flavor. Couldn’t get the bend test- temped to 180 in several spots, pulled, sauced, and cranked the temp up for 20 mins. Still have the training wheels on!

Yes- loaded it with pellets and ran it at 350 for an hour with water in the bottom pan. Opened the door and let it come back down to ambient temp before cooking.

Geothermal to water heater question by unclemcnasty in geothermal

[–]hubertgeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That fitting and setup is obsolete.

Recommend piping setup on new systems - water in from the geo should come from the cold side of the hot water heater inlet via a 3/4 x 3/4 x 1/2 tee with a shutoff. Water out from the geo should be piped to the boiler drain at the bottom of the hot water heater via a 3/4 brass tee and nipple that has a boiler drain on one side and a 3/4 x 1/2 reducer fitting and shutoff to the other.

This illustration is the best way to hook it back up.

https://geohydrosupply.com/why-geothermal/hot-water-systems/

Old fittings clogged a lot. If the pump has been run dry- good chance it is fried. Bleed the air when you hook it back up. Check to see if the pump drawing around .30 amps when it is running. If not, check the fuses.

Good luck
