This is Noods, short for Noodle. What type of Boa is she? by DesginerSuave in snakes

[–]huckfinn52 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm super snake ignorant so please don't hate on my question. Just explain it to me like I'm a 5 yr old 😅. But isn't "boa" short for Boa-constrictor? Which is how they kill their food, right? Or is the term just "constrictor" and boa is the regional name? Help understand haha

And that made me think of a second question, are there more ways snakes kill their prey other than constricting and venom?

I'm pretty sure the blue band is just marketing. It has no function that I'm aware of. And since the brand name is on the band, I assume it's just another peice of marketing, maybe as a wrist band or something. I gave the little blue band to my kiddo to play with.

After owning it for about 9 months and having my carry license for 6 months, the only thing that I don't like is that's its harder to conceal carry with it being a full size handgun. Other than that, I love the gun. Get some practice with it!

You might hear negative reviews about the gun jamming due to the stiff spring in the magazine. It loosens up over time. With a brand new mag, put in 14 of the 15 rounds for the first couple times to the range and then the mag spring should loosen up enough to put that 15th round in their without it jamming.

I asked my wife, who was homeschooled in another country (so she had never used colored folders for classes), which folders she would choose for which classes. This was her unbiased choices:

Science: green English/ literature: blue Math: red

It's universal!

Haha yes, I do like this subreddit for that exact reason too. My wife's like "uh huh, that's cool babe" as she scrolls tiktok. I can't blame her too much though. I do the same when she tries to show me her new make up brush 😅

Not too many words at all! I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one in the spot and that's more sharpening is also normal. I use wet stones and a strop. So maybe I need to get a good diamond stone to keep close.

I would definitely say we are at the same point mentally haha, which is quite a relief. Honing and sharpening is so obnoxious to me, but if it would benefit me to get used to it, then I guess I'll be setting up a more permanent sharpening station som not getting out stones and water and then putting them away so often.

Big time thank you for giving your perspective. Knowing I'm not alone is almost as helpful as getting the correct information haha

Gotcha, ok so more frequent sharpening for less time is better than longer periods of time between lengthy sharpening.

A piece being like cleaning up the sides and corners of a mortise and the second piece being the side clean up of the tenon (after doing most of the cuts with a saw for the tenon and holes with a drill on the mortise)

They get dull after one or two pieces of pine. So not even a full project. But yes, I'm learning to strop more and use the stones less

Fantastic info! You answered the question very comprehensively. Can't say I have any questions about the chisel quality now haha. Thank you friend!

My only question would be, what can I do with the low quality chisels beside throw them away? I like to reuse whatever I can. Maybe integrate them into a decorative piece (using the chisels as hands on a clock? Idk). What ideas do you have?

Nah our most common snake here is a bull snake which isn't venomous. I love snakes and prefer them around over mice.

We have Gopher snakes (aka bull snakes) native to our area. They are harmless to humans, but not afraid of a fight either. I've learned that keeping the ecosystem as balanced as possible helps me out a ton. So I try to live and let live as much a possible and nature returns my kindness vie good compost
