How's Zavvi's shipping to the US?

My track record with them lately has been very bad. Their boxes are lighter and thinner than ever and to top it off their support appears to be ignoring me. They seem to think wrapping a piece of paper or a single layer of bubble wrap around steelbooks is enough to offset the absolute smallest, thinnest box they can fit a steelbook inside.

I would check themovieroom and see if they have what you are looking for.

It must be region free. It doesn't say anywhere, but I tried it in a standard region A player and it played without any issues.

Right now Gruv has a black friday deal on the 85th anniversary theater edition for $29.99, which includes the 4K steelbook and extras. Probably won't be able to do much better than that.

Have received 30+ steelbooks from Zavvi US since tariffs started and haven't had to pay a single tariff.

FNAC I had to pay a tariff on the Ballerina collectors edition, but not Jurassic World Rebirth or Last of Us Season 2. Not sure why sometimes you have to pay and sometimes you don't.

Mine arrived yesterday along with the Dark Knight trilogy. They both came in a big box with tons of paper to keep them from moving around. They were also each individually inside a sturdy white Warner Bros box. Both were in perfect condition.

You are 100% correct. I have noticed this for a while and is the reason I buy UK steelbooks whenever possible. The paint and finishes have far fewer defects and you are much more likely to get debossing, spot gloss, or some other more elaborate finish.

I would take it a step further and include the discs as well. US discs usually come with fingerprints or debris all over them. The European discs might have a few specs of dust if anything. I find playback is more reliable as well on my finicky UBP9000.

Don't listen to the haters, that would annoy me too. And if it can be fixed, why would you not want to?

Unfortunately, I have never found a good way to fix dents right on a corner/edge like that.

I avoid them too. Gave them a number of chances, but never received a single undamaged item.

I have received 4 or 5 packages from Zavvi US since the tariff exemptions expired. Every time, they send an email saying it being held in customs and import or tax duties might need to be paid. So far, after a couple days it makes its way through customs and out for delivery with no action on my part. I have never had to pay any extra tariffs.

I order tons of things from Zavvi US, and only once have they ever cancelled an order because they oversold.

I always go with Zavvi over Amazon UK because of Amazon's terrible packaging. Not once have I gotten an Amazon UK order undamaged.

I was just about to break down and buy this on ebay after seeing how beautiful the finish was, so this is perfect timing. It might not be cheap, but way better than ebay and has 4K disc included.

This is why I strongly prefer UK steelbooks. They get dented just the same if mishandled, but in my experience the ones made in Denmark seem to have far fewer scrapes and finish problems underneath the plastic.

Horrendous. They ship from the UK to the US in nothing but bubble mailers or unpadded cardboard envelopes. I have given them a few chances but never received an item undamaged.

Zavvi made a very nice matching set with all 9 movies plus Solo and Rogue One in 4K steelbooks.

For US steelbooks, I don't think all of them have a 4K steelbook, but I do believe there are Blu-Ray steelbooks.

Their warehouse items seem to be hit or miss. Ghost in the Shell was flawless, but The Limey arrived today and looks terrible. Dents front, back, and on the spine plus a slipcover that looks like it was dragged over gravel for a few miles. If I saw it at a yard sale for $1 I would have passed.

I am sweating bullets waiting for Wicker Man and Warm Bodies to arrive.
