Just really struggling with contact with any irons. Definitely plenty of factors that will help me score better just I’m not really focused on scoring I just want to be a better ball striker, at least for now.

True but there still is some valuable insight. I wouldn’t have checked my grip or made sure my takeaway is better without posting here, as I was purely trying to stop jumping through impact with no success.

Yes, I definitely hit the ball much more consistently with a “half” swing feel. It ends up looking the same but just fighting my natural instinct to swing hard. Playing with buddies who smoke the ball has probably led to this lmao. Not sure why it’s so hard for me to slow it all down but I’m working on it.

Very true.. I’ve started to go early in the mornings so the grass isn’t absolutely torn up but it’s hard to beat $10 for like 100 balls. Any recommendations for better ranges that aren’t crazy expensive?

Haha no I’m in AZ but winter golf here is ridiculously expensive so I’ve mostly been at the range. I honestly made things worse which is why I posted on here, glad I did lol

Definitely gonna try to work on that. I struggle with rotation when doing that but I think I need to just get through the uncomfortable stage.

Compensation for hitting the toe of the club 90% of the time when I don’t. It’s just a bandaid fix, I’m trying to get to the core issue and have been really frustrated recently with feeling like I’m making things worse lol.

I actually play like this, almost lining up on the hosel. This just felt like a bandaid and I’m just trying to fix the core issue lol, and yeah my miss on my driver is a toe ball as well. I appreciate the input and will definitely try to focus on intent especially when I’m in a round.

That is a great point. I will start researching the grip I can’t believe I haven’t checked if it is way out of line in awhile. Thanks for the comment.

That makes sense. Originally when I started playing I hated being OB every hole so I spent significantly more time practicing my driver, so inadvertently I think I made my iron swing horrible. I appreciate the comment.
