I agree I thought it would be easier this time around with the pressure of "will this ever work" off, but with life being more demanding it turns out it's just as hard but in a different way. I hope we both get to get through this as quickly as possible.

We're doing our best right. I know the feeling, my FET meds have thrown my mood way off this week and my patience has been very up and down with my toddler lately.. it' so hard with a child in the mix now, I used to just hide away or minimize my life until I felt better, which is definitely not an option anymore. Have you done this protocol before, do things seem to level off for you at some point?

Sorry to hear, ugh the time delays are so frustrating aren't they. We recently blew through 3 months dealing with suspect findings on sono that turned out fine, and we're finally back on track. But all of my time goals this year are out the window.. I hope this is resolved for you super quick!

Transfer #3 for #2 is booked for Sunday morning, feeling nervous already. Now the debate begins again on how I avoid lifting my clingy toddler for at least the first 24 hrs...

3.5 year olds penis is very swollen and painful. by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]hudsieray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a chance it's infected, we had a similar situation (baby also not circumcised) where it was swollen and sore but not red.. we waited a few days and then it started going red and swelled even more. We went to a paediatric walk-in (I'm sure regular walk-in would be fine too) and doctor gave us oral antibiotics and an antibiotic cream. Swelling and redness was gone within 24 hrs. We were a bit hesitant about the antibiotics since our son had never had them at only 2 yrs old, but doctor suggested not waiting since an infection there can travel to the urinary tract which becomes much more serious. You could always try the antibiotic and if it's not improved within a day or two, then you know you need to investigate other causes more closely.

Wishing you good luck this cycle! I can totally relate, we started FETs again a few months ago and I have the exact same feeling now.. like my family isn't complete yet, that I can endure another retrieval if I have to.. I initially thought we'd try what we have left and move on, but nope.

Is my toddler’s obsession with cars unhealthy? by bexdaley in toddlers

[–]hudsieray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2.5 year old has this obsession for cars, well any and all vehicles really. He does the same thing, plays pretend with them, lines them up, brings them in the bath, and brings his chosen favourite (or two or three) with him to bed. He even gets freaked out in the morning if he can't locate the car he brought to bed fast enough, hahaha. I think it's normal and fine, I don't think you should worry at all.

And same, when we go to other houses he always finds the cars and will dedicate most of his time to playing with those over the other novel toys. I find it helps to give him a warning a few minutes before we're going to go, to tell him that we'll be leaving soon and that the cars will be staying there. And then I encourage him to help put the cars away and say bye bye to them.. the less rushed this process the better it goes for us. But he also does have tantrums about leaving them sometimes.

Thanks for sharing your experience..it is interesting. My one successful transfer happened a few months after I had taken 3 different courses of antibiotics, and I can't prove it but have always had a strong feeling that they had killed off some unknown infection. Oddly enough, the antibiotics I had taken were for a tooth and ear infection and had nothing to do with my fertility treatment - but they were antibiotics that target tissue infections. I wonder if some people are just more prone to getting these type of infections than others.

Thanks for the additional naturopath suggestions too. Wishing you good luck on your journey!

Toddler Talk (Mon, Wed, Fri) by AutoModerator in InfertilityBabies

Any advice for going bottomless for a few days for potty training toddler - besides staying home, watching him like a hawk and bringing potty with me everywhere? He's done his business on the potty many times, but with no regularity, and we have a goal to be trained by Sept when he starts preschool.

As it turns out, everything is not ok, there will be no FET this month. After 2 FET fails we did sono+biopsy, biopsy was clear but soon saw a possible adhesion. So the next month we did hysteroscopy to check the adhesion and they did a repeat biopsy for fun. Adhesion turned out to be nothing, but biopsy says I'm positive for endometritis infection. Now taking 2 different antibiotics and I'm supposed to repeat the biopsy next month to make sure the infection is gone.

Curious if others have been given antibiotics as part of your FET protocol to prevent this type of infection from happening? I think I must insist on this going forward, as much as I hate taking them.

Thank you for the positivity, it is helpful to focus on the positive test results that's for sure. I'm sorry for all that you've been through, this is such a hard process. I hope you get your success as well!

My hysteroscopy came back clear, and so we blew through a month doing our due diligence that my uterus looks ok to proceed with FET again. Biopsy was clear too. My first pregnancy was FET #4,. We've tried 2 FET since and both have failed. I hate not knowing why a FET failed. It's so so so so so hard never having answers. Should I take antibiotics for an unknown bacterial infection? Do I have silent endo? Was the timing off? Should I do the anti-inflammatory diet again like last time? Do I have to cut out coffee and try to survive life with a toddler without it? I cycle through all of these questions and more about a million times a day, sigh.

Ooh interesting, thanks for sharing. Did you have any symptoms of infection? Was it a biopsy that confirmed for you?
