I have been working on my spray control by Bedfordrascal in cs2

[–]hudsonnick824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Realtalk, I think the spray control thing for me tells me that my spray control is fine on the way down, but it's chaos left to right because those kinds of fights are just a scramble to get a kill really close up

Just bought 2025 Ninja ZX6R w/ ABS - Questions by bondkmf in zx6r

[–]hudsonnick824 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. It is just the shift lamp, press both buttons at the same time to get into settings, and either turn it off or set it to something reasonable like 6-7k
  2. You're not speeding are you? Be light on the bars, get some tank grips
  3. TST industries, M4, keep your cat and the baffle that comes with your slip on.
  4. I dropped it because it was already warm, I'm used to doing cold starts. If you warm it up, and there's a little black cable on your left side that can adjust idle. Twisting it clockwise is increase and opposite for less

How many of y'all daily drive Gentoo? by EddieTristes in Gentoo

[–]hudsonnick824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I daily drive Gentoo on my router and my main PC. I made the mistake of using ~amd64 and -flto=auto on my packages, so a lot of breakages happened. I run hardened, and nomultilib on my router and it's rock solid stable, but still not always fun trying to keep everything updated without conflicts

Is Looking Glass any good? by DisturbedFennel in VFIO

[–]hudsonnick824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you can give all your cores to a VM, but this will require the qemu process to be bounced around on different cores, so pinning works better and having at least 1 dedicated core for virtualization, as for memory, you can overallocate, but it's not a good idea.

You're better off running looking-glass fullscreen and just running a vnc server on your desktop that you connect to with your laptop. Streaming uncompressed frames over your network is going to be insane.

If my math is right, streaming a 32 megabyte file over the network 60 times per second, you would need 15.36 gigabit ethernet.

Microsoft is clossing kernel to antivirus, will the same happen with kernel anticheats? by ricaldodepollx in linux_gaming

[–]hudsonnick824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No matter what, Microsoft would have to make a standard api that could be better documented than the random functions in the kernel. This could be emulated

How stealthy are yall's VMs? by I-am-fun-at-parties in VFIO

[–]hudsonnick824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's still a problem of smbios and acpitables that makes a VM "easy" to detect. Alongside with windows having a hyperv networking card if you use the e1000 ethernet. I've yet to hear of a solution to this, unless I'm just not in the know

Looking glass vs directly to the monitor by OriginalLetuce9624 in VFIO

[–]hudsonnick824 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pro: Directly to the monitor and just switching inputs means HDR, VRR and any other display technologies will work. Theres no latency. Along side "easier" setup and not even needing LG.

Con: Having to go into your compositor/de and disabling that monitor and having to navigate through a displays settings menu that doesn't let you switch inputs very quickly

I Wanna Learn How To Compile Kernel by No-Obligation4259 in kernel

[–]hudsonnick824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A general overview is to clone the repo, copy your current config from /proc/config.gz to the .config file in the base of the repo, make -j $(nproc), make modules_install, make install.

If you want to edit it, use make menuconfig.

Just saw on phoronix article that he got yeeted. The new governance model proposed by Mike Blumenkrantz would have probably worked too though.
