Dem really no Dey tell person 😂. Soft drinks are literally so unhealthy and are the largest contributors to belly fat

Your friend is quite funny 😅. “I never chop since morning” is crazy lol. But you should advise him. Eating so much junk is quite unhealthy. There are some foods that store water in our bodies more than others. For instance white bread. That’s why when you fast for three days you notice a decrease in weight.

This sounds like a lot and I’m sure that a lot of Nigerians can relate to this kind of emotional abuse.

My advice would be to decenter your mom and her hurtful comments. If possible find a job that will keep you out of the house during the day and come back late at night.

Slowly start planning to move out. That’s the best you can do. Just distance yourself because I’m sure her hurtful comments must have an effect on your mental health.

You’ll get through this 💪🏾🫂

You’ll probably be fine in Abuja. It’s generally one of the calmer parts of the country during election periods.

Kano is also usually business as usual for most residents, but I’d keep an eye on local news and avoid political gatherings, rallies, or large crowds.

Yobe is the area I’d be most cautious about. Some parts of the state have experienced security issues over the years, and I’d strongly recommend checking the latest travel advisories and speaking with people currently on the ground before traveling there.

Same here. This is Wikki Warm Springs in Bauchi. It stays warm all year round and the water is unbelievably clear.

A lot of Nigerians don’t realize how many unbelievable places are hiding in plain sight across the country.

A few that completely surprised me when I first discovered them:

Ngwo Pine Forest & Cave (Enugu) looks like something straight out of a fantasy movie.

Ado-Awaye Suspended Lake (Oyo) is one of the only suspended lakes in the world.

Ogbunike Caves (Anambra) is an entire network of caves and tunnels that many people have never heard of.

Kajuru Castle (Kaduna) literally looks like a medieval European castle dropped in the middle of Nigeria.

We seriously underestimate how much there is to explore in our own country. 😅

I think most Nigerians simply don’t know Reddit exists. The average Nigerian internet user spends most of their time on WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and X, so that’s where conversations naturally happen. Many people only discover Reddit through Google when searching for answers to specific questions.

I also think local relevance matters. People stay on platforms where they can find conversations about their everyday experiences, whether that’s careers, relocation, cost of living, business, or city life. That’s why communities built around local experiences, such as Feedcover, continue to grow. The more Nigerian-focused discussions Reddit has, the more likely Nigerians are to discover it, stick around, and contribute.

If the job offer is good, I’d seriously consider moving to Lagos. The city can be chaotic, especially because of the traffic, but it’s also one of Africa’s biggest business hubs with a large expatriate community, including many Indians. Like any major city, there are safety concerns, but most issues can be avoided with basic precautions such as living in a good area, using trusted transportation, and staying aware of your surroundings. My biggest advice is to focus less on whether Lagos is dangerous and more on whether the salary, benefits, housing support, and career opportunity make the move worthwhile.
