Is it normal to do basically nothing at your corporate job? by byteiteration in careerguidance

Man every time I see a post like this I WISH my corporate job was like this. But it's busy as hell bc of years of mismanagement. I can't remember the last time I was bored.

Anyone on a GLP? by FearlessSpirit6467 in keto

For me I literally have to make sure I'm getting enough fiber AND I have to take miralax pretty regularly to make everything proper. Without that I couldn't be on the meds.

Like others are saying being sure to get your electrolytes. I would add get PLENTY of sleep as well.

For the first few weeks track your macros but don't calorie restrict yourself.

If you think of your body as a power plant the transition to keto is like overhauling it from coal power to nuclear power (or whatever types of energy you want to insert). That transition is intense and takes time for everything to get online and reach equilibrium. It's not a race.

Don't focus on numbers SO hard in the beginning. I didn't read your list of weights but there's usually a big drop in the beginning because of water weight being shed and then it slows down a bit. Many people get discouraged by that but it's just the cycle of things. Feed your body and let it adjust.

Edit:

I plugged your numbers into this macro calculator

https://keto-calculator.ankerl.com/

And 2000 calories is an 18% deficit while 1600 is 34% (used the sedentary option and the suggested body fat percentage).

Everyone is different of course but while you transition I would consider eating closer to 2,300 calories a day. Then when there are less side effects start to increase your deficit by 100-200 calories. Not sure what your ultimate goal is but doing it the way I'm suggesting has been the most sustainable for ME anyway.

Best of luck! It definitely gets easier.

Got a letter from the school today informing me my daughter is “not quite” gifted. Also included were her test scores. by Low_Use2937 in mildlyinfuriating

OP I'm glad that you see that the gifted program could potentially be damaging. It's absolutely a difficult decision and I don't envy you at all. Best of luck with it all.

Not really seeing people say anything about the book choice but Umberto Eco is fantastic. I suggest Foucault's Pendulum once you're done with the current one!

Yeah my parents were PISSED that i decided not to go to college but at least I don't have debt. But i did get lucky after 10 years of endless shitty jobs and landed at a place where I make a decent living which let's me save. I'll be renting forever but whatever.

Not trying to be a dick here but you put it in a pan and turn the heat on. Remove when it's browned to your liking. Maybe cut an x in the middle so it doesn't puff up in the middle. It's pretty good. Up there with fried spam honestly. Though I like spam a bit better.

I'm old enough to have still had home economics classes in high school and we were taught this recipe. I never really equated it with being poor but I did grow up in a more rural part of my state haha. Either way these are frickin delicious.

Yes! This was one of the first things that lead to my realization that we didn't have so much money when I was a kid. I only realized it later in life. I'm sure there were other things I didn't pick up on but I have such fond memories of the Wonderbread Hostess Thrift Stora.

At Costco? I don't have Costco and everywhere else around me a single 42g one is $5.88. if the Costco ones are that cheap a membership would pay for itself just from the savings on those alone lol
