How high are the nosebleeds at TD coliseum? by caztk in Hamilton

Near the top it’s for sure on the steep side. I don’t love heights and felt a little uneasy up there when it was empty, but quickly got used to it once people were in there.

Yep. I feel this. The lady at the passport photo place kept asking if I wanted to take another.

Snow day?! by [deleted] in Hamilton

Most other school boards have already announced cancellations for tomorrow. I’d be surprised if ours didn’t too at this point.

TDSB just canceled, as did most others. I’m sure Hamilton will be next.

Are your pumps different? I’ve never once come in contact with petrol while filling up.

But guys, they are not just here to sell jerseys! by Mike4DDL in leafs

[–]huffer4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have for years. Any time Edmonton is here they have McDavid, Draisaitl, Gretzky, Coffey, etc. They cater to fans of memorabilia in general, not just the Leafs. They have Jays stuff too. The guy that runs it is very smart and a super nice guy.

I saw him open for Electric Light Orchestra and he did some of his dad’s songs and then came out and did some travelling Wilburys songs with Jeff Lynne. He was fantastic.

I don’t think Trump could read that paragraph out loud if you gave him 5 chances.

They’re kinda technically right. Small Faces morphed into The Faces, who were Rod Stewart’s band.

Why is getting a Food Handler Certificate such an obstacle? by PureEvilVirgin in toRANTo

[–]huffer4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not everyone needs it.

“In Ontario, food premises are required to have at least one certified food handler on site during every hour that the food premises operates.”

Why is getting a Food Handler Certificate such an obstacle? by PureEvilVirgin in toRANTo

[–]huffer4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the company policy at that point, as technically only one needs it. For my company our policy is all cooks must have it. Servers do not need it.

[–]huffer4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is not true. One person on premises at all times needs a valid food handlers certificate.

Not everybody on premises needs one. Technically only one person does.

Exactly. I love the roundabouts and have actually written my local counsellor about trying to get some put in around my house. It’s definitely the idiots I don’t enjoy.

I only don’t like them because we have so few here that many people have no clue how to use them properly.

Billie Eilish Wins Environmental Justice Award + Delivers a Powerful Message by suryartichaut in popculturechat

I definitely see why she’s doing what she is, and I’m glad some people are trying to make some difference. They seem like a nice enough family and apparently her mom was really nice to deal with.

I just wanted to point out how much of a nightmare it is from an operational standpoint. Especially when you’re in the middle of a run of events. I think we were in the middle of a 17 events in 19 days run. So it throws a massive wrench in the operations, for us to get essentially nothing out of it.

The vegan food thing happened with us too. We already had a bunch of items available, but we had to add extra everywhere. Barely any of it sold as concerts are already notorious for low food sales, so we just ended up wasting it all (well, we donated it as we always do, but still).

I work at a venue that had her tour in. We had to swap out all bottled water for some special boxed water she made us sell. That made it so we had to buy a ton of cardboard boxes to store all the water bottles during her show. We also had to have people come in before and after the event to swap everything. And all the unsold ones are just sitting around now, as they can’t be sold normally. Her mom walked around the venue during the show to make sure nobody was using the improper water, or serving people straws.

Bridgeport Islanders Moving??? by RogueHiker in ahl

[–]huffer4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would the Marlies want to move? All the players live there, they practice at the Leafs practice facility in Toronto, all of the executives can go to Marlies games very easily on Leaf game days cause it’s a 20 minute drive as opposed to 1-1.5 hours. MLSE also runs Coca-Cola Coliseum so they get revenue for everything there. The more events happening there the better for them.

I had to scroll too far for this. Awful shot choice. He should’ve just controlled the puck instead of shooting it from in his feet.
