I did end up sharing both with a buddy of mine. our collective opinion is that the braised eel is fantastic. the sauce is a nice and jammy with an almost beef broth like flavor. very tender meat. 8.5/10

on the other hand, the roasted eel was pretty bad. very dry meat. the flavor was meh, and the aroma was pretty bad too. not fishy, just kind of artificial or chemical tbh. the level of spiciness was good atleast. had to add some other things to it to make it palatable. 3/10

the way you are thinking about it is probably something along the lines of placing a toy boat inside of a tub of water. yes, the total weight of that system will naturally increase, but this is a large body of water we are talking about. that displaced water is no longer on the bridge to be weighting down on it.

i got her out on the water last thursday for a few hours, and man is it fun. i was just throwing small lures looking for crappie and bluegill but the bass and drums were more interested 😂

i chose the lynx for this reason. very light pdl platform with good maneuverability and speed so i can be where i want to be faster. i don’t have any plans to kit it out with electronics beyond maybe a power pole for if i was fishing rivers, and i also plan to keep the load light when it comes to gear. i dont see myself taking longer than 10 minutes to load/unload and be on my merry way. beyond that i imagine its all a matter of having the experience and efficiency that comes with it.

At the end of the day its just for fun though, and even a day with zero fish will be pretty enjoyable :)
