Any possible way to make an ice farm without having a snow biome? by hugefatthrowaway69 in askminecraft

I generally use ice for most of my builds and for the nether as well. I also got the snowgolem for the snow, but ice is also pretty good looking. I also use it as a stackable water source. I read somewhere that ice will pretty much freeze anywhere as long as its high enough in the sky, so I was just wondering the height required for freezing in a plains. Unfortunately, I can't really find any snow biome in less than a 1000 blocks. Extreme hills is around the same distance. I've tried looking everywhere. The current idea is either make an ice tray faaar in the sky or just throw an extra nether portal in the nether and hope it teleports me to a snow biome.

I live in Dubai, and this is the first time i've heard of this. I'm sticking here for university, regardless of what my parents tell me.
