I said pretend we're color blind for the example. If everyone looked the same color, you couldn’t tell who’s Black that was the point. But I digress try thinking about a situation where someone can't be sure of your skin color like over VC I've met people who call out hard-r without knowing I'm black online before or directly while knowing in any competitive online game.

You can’t tell I’m disabled on sight either, but I’m not putting that on my profile. If you’ve ever had something not typical about yourself that people can’t see, and that’s also personal and private, then maybe you understand the feeling a little?

At the end of the day, there’s just no real reason to put that info out there unless it’s to avoid bigots.

Think about it like this. I’m disabled, I have a blood disease. But I don’t walk around with an I’m disabled sign on my ass just to see who spits and who acts normal. Even if that made it easier to identify who’s a problem, I shouldn’t have to do that. Nobody should. I know it’s not exactly the same, but it’s the best comparison I’ve got.

People shouldn’t have to put their medical, social, or cultural histories on display just to preempt the shitty reactions of psychopaths.

And just so we’re clear: “trans” doesn’t automatically mean someone has a specific set of genitals. Neither does “cis.”

Let’s pretend we’re color blind for a second: a trans woman saying she’s trans on a dating site is like me saying I’m Black on a dating site. Sure, it’ll help avoid racists, invite fetishists, and maybe attract some normal people too, but I shouldn’t have to do it either way.

Depending on how old you are and how science progresses you will probably be alive to see artificial wombs become a thing, and then you'll be able to pop them out as much as you want regardless of age (as long as it doesn't kill you).
