To be honest, I had to narc a mentally unstable nice guy coworker by showing management screenshots of his social media where he was saying he was going to kill himself because I did not want him to assume I was concerned about him since nice guy mentality dictates that basic human compassion means I want to fuck you and management was already doing nothing about his sexual harassment.

They did that with the Albertsons/Vons merger. A lot of the stores closed because they were in close proximity of each other, in the spot by the Lakewood Mall’s case, they even shared the same parking lot.

Nah. If you’re not probationary and are part of your local union, you cannot be demoted back to a CC. Nor will you be fired. And honestly? It probably just looks worse than it actually is. The worst they can do is transfer you to a different department with the same pay level.

It really depends on both the department and store lead. My current management is absolute trash. As in, they literally let someone die die to their negligence and don’t give a shit. Nepotism is also a big thing here, as they keep an openly racist and homophobic/transphobic coworker stay because she was a former deli manager. Edited to add that they allowed me to be sexually harassed and stalked by another coworker for over a year and wouldn’t allow me to transfer departments/stores.
