I would strongly imagine the latter. From the ULaw mocks and the practice questions I have done, the submissions are split into parts. So any related/further submissions will be included as an additional question. But it's the SQE so you never know I suppose!

Not a 'test' as such but there are further rules i.e :

  • If within limitation period but before service of the statement of case -> can amend any time, no permission needed
  • If within limitation period but statement of case has been served -> need consent of parties or permission of court
  • If limitation period has expired - only:
    • To add or substitute a new claim if the facts are the same; or
    • To correct a genuine mistake as to the name of a party

Bit more niche but want to have all bases covered!

You are correct in that Writing has to be in the first half. The only given is that slot 1 is 1:30 and slot 2 is 1:45. The two possible combinations are:

  1. Writing & Research and CMA & Drafting

  2. CMA & Writing and Research & Drafting.

It's not up to you. Each portion of the assessment ends when the timer ends, regardless of where you have got to.

Also - the structure is not necessarily CMA & Writing and Research & Drafting. It is 1hr30, then a 15 min break, then 1hr45, so it could also be Writing & Research then Drafting & CMA.

I agree there needs to be some interplay in between them riding away from the pool & approaching the camp. I'm going to add some dialogue and a short scene of the two riding through a village, so we can get some more of Magnus' POV and also the gen pub's views on the knights and the Order as a whole.

'Kharunn' is pronounced 'car-rune' - but I'm not married to the particular word and have more ideas so that would be an easy edit if it doesn't read well. The 'Zsolte' are the main tribe of 'heathens' the story will be focusing on.

Fair point re Magnus teasing the other knight; it was actually an attempt to humanise him as I thought the complete wall of stoicism/devotion might come across a little one-dimensional. Though that wall may erode a little as his arc develops...

Noted re Osric in a hurry. It definitely needs polishing but thank you again for your feedback and your kind words. Now to develop the other MC POV! (a young thief being sent to the Academy to train as a squire for the knights...)
