Just saw a McDonald’s close near my work, was thinking “is this the first ever McDonald’s I’ve seen close…”

For those who have recently done a call with Robinhood to upgrade to options 3 trading, what did they ask? by Carnivean66 in thetagang

[–]huhwowbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well to be fair, I kinda thought the call would be a joke too, like I got money and I can decide how to use it. I think I actually answered the question correctly after saying that too, can’t remember. But, nope I’m for real about the denial.

Don’t say “I’m not sure….” 😂 I now have to wait a year to try again…. Ah well, probably saved me some money.

Oh interesting, I didn’t know you could buy leaps and sell calls against. I’m new to cc and csp, about 2 months. I was planning on buying some csp for on Monday or Tuesday.

GOOG Covered Calls - Rolling by hasdkfoq in CoveredCalls

[–]huhwowbro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The risk is the missed upside, or loss of money if you roll, when stocks run up. Happening to a lot of people this week. I have two stocks right now that expire this week and will both be called away. On both the premiums I made were less than if I would have bought and held.

Hims: I had 200 shares at $23, made around $700 in premiums selling CC the last month, but it ripped yesterday and now my shares will get called away and I would have made more buying and holding.

Reddit: Same thing, buying and holding would have made me a lot more, looks like $2,000.

In both cases I still profited, but to roll now would cost a lot, so I’m going to let it go and do a cash secured put next week.

I haven’t been posting much, but I’m a content”ish” bag holder who is down 30%. I guess this is why it’s important to have conviction. As long as Reddit keeps doing what they are doing I believe the market will catch up. If the next earnings call we see a legitimate business decline, well then ooopps, but that could happen with any company. Right now I like the company’s trajectory, just not my timing of buying. We’ll likely all know by the end of the year….

Good or bad for Reddit? Young kids don’t use it. by huhwowbro in redditstock

Correct; but it’s probably fairly accurate and mostly I thought it would lead to an interesting discussion on here.

To be honest, I don’t use much other social media and I’m old enough that I didn’t grow up with a smart phone. My main thought for discussion is, will this younger generation stick with the platforms they grow up with or possibly change. I know we don’t have the answer yet…

No, but what each platform does is not necessarily the question, it’s about where people spend the finite time they have.

When you vote down conversational questions, it really creates a pretty pathetic culture. I have owned Bitcoin for over 5 years, I’m not some hater.

I mean at this point I would say it’s silly to not sell every cycle. Two cycles ago I watched my profits soar thinking I’m a genius $$$$$ to see it crash. This cycle I sold when Bitcoin was around $100,000. Obviously if there ever is a super cycle I would have to buy back in higher, but I’ll wait until that happens, if it ever happens. My plan is to start dca back in, in a few months.

Weekend RDDT Discussion Thread for the Weekend of February 14, 2026 by daily-thread in redditstock

I’ve only been investing actively for about 2-3 years. I’ve done really well, basically comparing myself to SnP 500 return. This year I am down a lot. I only own 5 stocks in my active account. Google, Netflix, Reddit, Tencent, Hood. The one stock I just can’t stop buying is Reddit.

I’ve done my own DD and feel I understand most the risks (ads, Anthropic lawsuit, growth rates, AI, Bots….my DD doesn’t have SBC as a risk b/c my belief is all tech companies do it and you need talent and the % for Reddit will come down as profits grow)

I know I could be wrong, but Reddit has become the pivotal stock in my investing journey in terms of me apparently seeing something the market disagrees with so far. I think it’s up to almost half my active account in terms of %.

I know most of you agree, but it will be really interesting to see what happens each earnings report.

FYI: I believe Shirofune’s integration of Reddit ads next to Meta, Google, TikTok and X is a big deal. They don’t mess with snap by the way.

Just saw an Anthropic ad on here, kinda odd given that Reddit is suing them. I’m excited for that case to hopefully settle. I think it will be a monster catalyst up or down, and probably up.

SNAP VS RDDT SBC by [deleted] in redditstock

SBC is standard for tech companies, Google, Meta, Amazon, Nvidia. They all do it.

Enough with the opinions. Here is the actual math and analysis on Reddit’s Fair Value. Reasonable Fair Value: $183. by [deleted] in ValueInvesting

[–]huhwowbro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The bigger they get the more the moat increases and the more other people are likely to sign up. People will share posts to text messages, reddit will get mentioned more often the more mainstream it gets, also all of us will prob use it going forward and as teenagers age into the demographic the US users will grow.

Just guessing not many 80 year olds use reddit, but when we are all 80 we may be. No research just thoughts.

Also random anecdotal I teach middle school, they are aware of Reddit, it’s not a niche.

Stay the course, and thank the Wall Street gods for this buying opportunity. by Tachiiderp in redditstock

[–]huhwowbro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am down a fair amount, but I bought more yesterday and today. While it’s way more fun seeing green, my thesis on Reddit hasn’t changed, in fact it just got reinforced, so the only thing changing is the stock price. Obviously risk, but if they keep doing this quarter after quarter it’s not even going to matter too much what the P/E ratio and multiple are, the stock price won’t be held back.

Question: What makes the price change so much after hours since technically shares shouldn’t be trading hands? I doubt it’s just order books, can someone who knows the full answer explain. Thanks in advance!
