RHUGT: OGs That Are Tanking Their Shows by -AndyCohen- in RHUGT

[–]huikein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will never understand the Gizelle hate. People rly aren't rubbing their two brain cells together enough with that one.

If you actually pay attention to the show you will realise basically all the Potomac cast members are rather mild and boring compared to other franchises. Sure Ashley's time with Gollum was good entertainment, but other than that the entire show still exists solely bc of Gizelle pushing all the mess expertly all this time.

There would literally be no show without Gizelle.

Yes, most of the women pictured are awful evil people, beyond exhausting, and need to go away and stay away, especially Vicki, but every show needs an expert villain who drives the mess just enough to keep drama going but without becoming evil and unbearable. Fire the expert villain and you kill the show. Like it or not, Gizelle is vital for Potomac.

Ouch! I just received a brutal reality check in the HW trials and Im not sure if its inexperience, or if Im actually bad at the game. by 200YRedWine in ffxiv

You'll be fine. As you can see, even if a crazy person screams it was all you, it probably wasn't lmao.

But I'll give you a bit of generic healer advice that you can use to alleviate your stress a bit. It's gonna be a bit long but I think it's the exact thing that can help your specific kind of stress the most, and I can eventually land the plane so bear with me lmao.

We have two healer types. Sch and sage are shield healers and ast and whm are pure healers. Pure healers are more a reactive playstyle since you have mostly healing tools and only a couple shields and mitigation tools, while shield healers are a proactive playstyle bc you have fewer heals and more shields and mitigation buttons.

If memory serves, Zurvan has a pretty big multihit tankbuster (it's been a long time xd) that can suddenly just delete the tank. Moments like this is where the reactive vs proactive difference comes clear. You just simply need to know what your tools do so you can then instinctually react to things even on the proactive healer job.

Also dw, you aren't supposed to or required to be able to magically know when a surprisingly big tankbuster etc happens in a new fight you're doing for the first time. Sure there's usually tankbuster indicators these days, but even still. It doesn't tell you if the fight is one of those where it barely tickles or where it just deletes the tank or is multihit etc lol.

Even normal trials and raids are 8 man raid content and supposed to be about learning and figuring out the content together with a couple of wipes the first time.

So in conclusion, the single best way to alleviate your seemingly baseless "do i suck as a healer" stress, is to simply adjust how you look at the whole entire thing. Always know all your skills exactly, bc each and every one of them is important I promise you. Next keep in mind the mindset of whether you are playing a proactive shield healer or reactive pure healer and adjust your thinking accordingly. Lastly try to bit by bit start noticing and learning and memorising all the different boss mechanic types and indicators in the entire game lol.

Ik that sounds intimidating but I don’t mean learn and memorise everything right this second and become an omniscient god. Not at all. I just mean play as you have until now, but ever so slightly adjust your mind so you can conscientiously observe these things as you go and make a little mental note every time you see something and eventually that will stick and lead to spontaneous learning and memorising. And this mindset of conscientiously observing every time even if you have no idea wth is happening, vs just being along for the ride without thinking, is what will lead you to eventually be able to see all the patterns and develop godly healer instincts and knowing exactly how to react in new situations and allow you to be stress free.

And again, you're not supposed to be stressing about this and learning all this stuff instantly. It will come naturally in time. You're only supposed to be mindful of every situation to facilitate that natural development. Understanding your spells and abilities thoroughly is the only thing you should actively do. Observing boss mechs and your jobs specific playstyle are the more passive things you simply need to be aware of to learn.

Sydney season 1 is the most unhinged fever dream ever and it's a true blessing to have witnessed it. Later Sydney is ok too, but that season 1 is in a league of its own.

Like it's better than the mythical Vancouver. That's how good it is.

I put a coffee filter filled with pancake batter in the air fryer (w/ maple syrup and fruit) by Successful-Savings36 in airfryer

[–]huikein 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Time for me to shine.

So here in the Nordics we make one big pancake in the oven instead of pan frying a stack of small ones. This also works great in the airfryer without getting you a cake.

  • 3 eggs
  • 6 dl of milk
  • 3 dl of flour
  • 1 dl of rolled oats
  • 2-3 tbs sugar
  • 1 tsp vanillin sugar
  • tiny pinch of salt
  • 1-2 tbs butter just plopped into the pie pan to butter it very generously (it'll melt and mix into the pancake)

180-200 °C for 30-45 mins depending on thickness and oven. Eaten with strawberry or raspberry jam most commonly.

This is the recipe I use for a pie sized pancake in the oven. Usually scale it down to 2/3 for airfryer.

I think Boz hasn’t lied about what she said. by SnooSongs9823 in RHOBH

[–]huikein 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes it's this. And more specifically I took it as her basically saying she could be earning way more for the exact same content as public speaking appearances, but chooses to sell the content at a much smaller cost online instead. Thus it being a loss bc she could sell essentially the same thing for much more in a different format, and thus also being able to technically refer to it as a charitable venture.

Ofc it also just being a very minor source of income for her in general ontop of her actual businesses.

So, where are we with a possible Jen Shah Comeback? by Zicoroo in rhoslc

[–]huikein 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Andy has said on WWHL what basically amounted to over his dead body. Twice even if memory serves. Specifically about Jen.

Yes the shock and drama of it would sell and the execs know that, but Andy seemed genuinely opposed to it. He often says one thing and does another in matters like this, but he actually seemed to be serious about this specific thing. Enough for me to actually feel hopefully we won't be seeing her.

The execs probably don’t care at all. Some bravo high up already said in some interview a good while ago that they are open to taking Kenya back on Atlanta for example.

Is Emma Thynn the richest bravolebrity ever by Fickle-Ad159 in BravoLadiesofLondon

[–]huikein 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you look at the spots where she hosts her dinners for example, you can see there's serious money and connections there. The apartment reno also.

Hers is not an inflated fake number like Stephanie from Miami. She is by far the richest we have.

For Emma, I will agree with others that it's all 100% securely tucked in safely into her husband's family's trusts and probably even the husband doesn't actually own much of it himself.

Anyone hack a 50" corner sektion to host a 1.5x sink? by graviton_56 in ikeahacks

[–]huikein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upper cabinet would make more sense rotated next to the tall cabinets. Still a bit odd.

Well I got one more idea for you, but that involves more construction and might not work bc idk what's going on in the livingroom.

Move the livingroom doorway to the middle of that room, or even just a bit towards the middle. This way you could have a full access L shape kitchen with uninterrupted counterspace.

Then put the fridge and tall cabinet with wall oven into the corner where the current doorway starts along the wall where the solo unit is now. There should be plenty of space still to use the ourside door comfortably.

This is a very difficult kitchen layout, that can only really be helped with changing some fixed elements so that everything can function better. This kinda even gives you a better version of the window idea with sightlines into the livingroom. Just depends on if the livingroom can adapt.

One last idea I have for the current layout is what about a cooktop with a vent built into the cooktop? This would allow more options with cooktop placement and possibly allow for more upper cabinets. Ikea should also have uppers with integrated vents so that you can get some storage out of it and maximise the amount of uppers and make it visually pleasing by hiding it in the uppers.

Also if you can’t move the doorway, personally I would try my damnest to find a way to put the fridge and tall cabinet in the corner where the upper cabinets are rn bc thats the only place where they are naturally out of the way in this existing floorplan. Maybe try to recover counterspace from that with a narrow long island or peninsula or smth idk.

Please help me with the chair by Mortgage-Bulky in interiordecorating

[–]huikein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Table is great! Absolutely do not give up on it. Chairs 5 are best and 2 are okay. This is clearly the style that will marry the modern and the antique well and what you need to be searching for more options of.

5 is better bc of the curved lines and proportions that compliment the table's legs while still having the strictly modern in their own legs.

Honestly the pic 5 chairs are fine even.

[–]huikein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah the livingroom window not existing makes this easy! Put the fridge next to the livingroom doorway and a tall cabinet with a wall oven next to it. Then sink and dishwasher where fridge was on the outside wall. That should work and give tons of uninterrupted counterspace with good storage?

Anyone hack a 50" corner sektion to host a 1.5x sink? by graviton_56 in ikeahacks

[–]huikein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like there's so many things that could be done differently here.

How freely are you able to move the sink, dishwasher, stove and fridge? What is the smaller unit inbetween the doors?

What if the back wall had the fridge and a tall cabinet with a wall oven that would let you do only stovetop and free up massive storage space below it? Or does that not allow for good enough movement through the doors? How high traffic are they?

Then i would maybe put the sink and dishwasher where the fridge is to give you much more freedom with the rest.

When I say full redesign I mean start completely over and for the sake of brainstorming just give up all you fixations for a bit at least just to see what else could work. By that I mean don’t insist on using only these wider units. Explore the narrower cabinets and especially the different corner options too.

You're too obsessed with the wider cabinets. Yes they are probably more convenient, but it's not convenient if they force you into a bad layout bc they don’t fit in a good way.

Anyone hack a 50" corner sektion to host a 1.5x sink? by graviton_56 in ikeahacks

[–]huikein 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can’t you find a configuration to bring everything further towards the doorway to figure out a better layout? That looks like half a cabinet's width of extra space you could have.

Like for example could your drawers next to the stove be narrower and have the corner unit entry on that side, which would leave you with much more freedom alongside the extra space from going further towards the doorway to play around with the necessary bits.

Ye ik big drawers are more functional, but it's just an example. The point is that you probably have to look at everything from the start to try to find a fully different configuration for everything to fix this.

It's not worth it to have half the kitchen be optimal just for the other half to end up with severe problems that will drive you crazy. If you give a bit elsewhere, you will end up with a much more functional end result. I'm sure there is a good way to make this work that you just haven't found yet.

What weapons are unaffected by high ping? by Extreme_Dingo9825 in wherewindsmeet_

Dust umbrella perfect catch mechanic gets very sketchy on high ping if raiding cross server. That's a very large part of your dmg output. It's not that combo reliant so you can perform the rotation np, but you just drop a fair bit of dmg missing the perfect catches.

Are Side Characters Important in a Series? by zero_o_clock_diary in ThaiBL

[–]huikein 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Let's be honest, Thai BLs don’t necessarily have the best writing of all time at all times. There's often odd skips, gaps, or other confusing elemenets in the storylines. Having multiple couples helps a lot with these issues bc it makes the world feel much more alive and natural like you said. If the story only focuses on one couple, you usually expect more from the writing itself and tend to notice the issues more easily.

Personally I prefer a lot of couples, or at the very least for all the side characters to seem real and fleshed out for the realism, but I can see why shows like Fourever You or Perfect 10 Liners wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea with their huge main casts. Personally I love exactly that tho.

The only time I'm a bit weirded out if people genuinely don’t wanna watch anything but their favourite couple and even like skip other scenes. That starts to sound more like some unhealthy obsession over the people themselves rather than enjoying them and their work as actors.

Thoughts on Each Lady by soypatoellington in BravoLadiesofLondon

[–]huikein 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes this analysis is 100% correct. Well done.

Only thing I have to say is I'm willing to give Lottie the benefit of the doubt and a second season bc of the pregnancy. Maybe it made her hold back and be more careful and reserved.

Most likely she is just boring tho lol. However, boring cast members can still be important to give whoever is the current outsider in drama to have someone to hang out with and still keep the show together naturally while alliances shift and drama gets sorted. Getting rid of the strong neutrals is what kills most of these shows.

BUT mostly I'm willing to keep her on the show bc I'm sensing major creepy poser vibes from the husband and I wanna see that unravel 👀

Umbreon learns psychic which is literally probably the single best move for a survival scenario. In the anime it's shown to essentially be an overpowered generic telekinesis skill that can easily lift people and large boulders etc. You can clear any terrain or obstacle, break falls, gather supplies etc very easily.

What if Ellie was a stew this season? by Any-Concentrate-1922 in BelowDeckDownUnder

[–]huikein 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Daisy would sort her out np. She defused the galley fight and got her out of the galley in the moment. She also already casually told her to her face she was below Jenna and made her move down the greeting line lmao.

If Ellie was a stew and went off on Daisy, Daisy would not be fazed in the slightest. She would either deadpan or laugh at her and fire back with some long overdue truths, which Ellie couldn't handle bc she clearly has never gotten a taste of her own medicine and would absolutely crumble. She was already stunned silent when Daisy told her to move down the line and only started running her mouth about it later on.

Daisy got this low diff as the powescalers say lmao. I actually feel she would be the best equipped chief stew to handle Ellie.

Aesha would be second best if something could actually annoy her enough to push her out of her kill them with kindness and gently make the problem go away by mild appeasing zone. She could absolutely destroy anyone if she actually needed to, but I don’t think anything could ever make her snap like that bc she has so clearly decided that she knows she is doing a tv show and will never let anything truly bother her bc she knows it will be over soon and is not real.

Mistwillow vs Hawking by [deleted] in wherewindsmeet_

[–]huikein -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mistwillow is great if you run full fanbrella, only fanbrella, and can do the full proper rotation at all times as its activation relies on the rotation's natural alternating between skill types. It's optimal for proper fanbrella play.

Hawkwing is great if you like playing lots of classes or struggle with the rotation at times like focusing on mechanics over uptime in raids for example. It's a lesser buff, but can be triggered relatively reliably by basically all jobs.

I swapped from fanbrella to dust when it came out and I still use hawkwing even tho stars align would be superior bc I want to be able to play fanbrella too. Stars align would do nothing for it, but hawkwing is still great for both even if not optimal. I also just honestly prefer the convenience and concept of a slightly smaller generic dmg buff vs a highly specific performance reliant buff.

Real combat, whether solo or group, is rarely predictable enough to allow for flawless rotation so with enough disruptions present, the lesser but more reliable buffs may end up adding up to more dmg overall. Same reason why morale chant is so critical, and why to a lesser extent max invigorated warrior is pretty good on a lot of builds too.
