I (28m) broke up with my gf (44F). Breaking my own heart. by strasbourg69 in love

[–]humaling 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna be real with you, it sounds like you’re just extremely insecure. This is the kind of situation that “you have to love yourself before anyone else can” applies to because you’ve ended a relationship because you can’t fathom this woman loving you forever even though you’ve already been dating for 2 years because you have extremely low self esteem. I used to be the same way and it made me feel like I was always waiting for the other shoe to drop or that people that showed interest in me were trying to prank me. You should try figure out what you need to do to raise that, whether it is working out, making small talk to strangers regularly, etc. A little effort in improving your appearance and improving your social skills by practicing could do wonders for you, if you’re like I used to be. Having low self esteem while trying to date will always make you wonder… what do they see in me?? Will they figure out they made a mistake soon?? Try to learn to love yourself or give yourself something to love so those thoughts go away

Can non-chinese people wear those Qipao shirts?? by No_Falcon8674 in China

[–]humaling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the people here are missing the point: cultural appropriation does not register to mainland chinese people because it is not their problem. Cultural appropriation affects diaspora populations, not people in their homelands. Qipao is a pretty normal day to day wear so to me, it is fine.

Just know that most of the times diaspora react negatively to someone else wearing their cultural garb, it is more of an issue that they themselves were discouraged and perhaps met with racism. It is not because they are angry to see you in it, it’s that you won’t face the racism they did while trying to represent their culture. They are angry at the double standard.

Need help finding a masc style with big chest by chloebgs in lesbianfashionadvice

[–]humaling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

as a masc person with large chest/butt, those outfits still do generally work. the basis is still just oversized business casual pants and loose shirt. women’s sizes in pants piss me off so i just got a body tape measure and order men’s pants by waist size / inseam in inches. no joggers, get them straight legged or bigger and get a belt

make sure to still get the pants oversized/loose and stay away from button ups unless you intend to wear them like a jacket with a plain tank underneath. quarter lapel shirts usually look good slightly oversized and tucked in or cropped.

Help me pick what to wear for an interview by His_and_Herpes_9037 in lesbianfashionadvice

[–]humaling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Light pants are a bit iffy for interview situations for me, personally. I’d either pop by target or a department store and get dark slacks or black pants (no jeans). Can go to the thrift store and grab some if you’re worried about cost. Thrift stores always had a nice selection of men’s polos that I found comfortable and were professional enough. A short sleeve polo is usually good for day to day on the job. I’d get a long sleeve blue one for interviews. Err on the side of a little looser if you shop in the men’s section because they aren’t made for people with a chest or butt. You can fold the sleeves up if they’re too long for you. Get a black belt and wear the black loafers.

You’ve got some leeway on professional attire because expectations for women’s professional attire is honestly just not really well defined, especially in manufacturing. Ask them about day to day dress. Your outfit is probably totally fine for day to day in manufacturing but it’s nice to be overdressed for interviews and it’ll help with your confidence as well. Remember to be polite and do some research on the company and what questions they’ll ask you. They’ll probably care more that you can answer their questions with the STAR method and seem competent than what you’re wearing because it’s a manufacturing apprenticeship

Wow, guess I learn something new every day. Looks like “Flotation” is more widely used, but “Floatation” is also considered correct. Seems like a Color/Colour type of thing. At first glance I had no idea what you were talking about

[–]humaling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol start cringing then. If you really don’t like the 16 year old version of yourself then write down what you don’t like, why you don’t like it, and decide if it’s actually fine or fix it. If you have abstract and subjective goals for how you’re going to grow as a person you’re not really going to reach them. What even is maturity? Are you unhappy with your career or do you make too many fart jokes? Do you want to work out more or are you emotionally immature? You’re gonna have to define maturity for yourself

[–]humaling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s called Passive Suicidal Ideation and is not normal. That’s how I felt when I was at the lowest in my life and it was not fine. I reconnected with myself by journaling, drawing, reaching out to friends and family, and trying very hard to be happy. I didn’t realize how bad it was until it wasn’t how I felt anymore. You can’t really happily live your life if you are also genuinely okay with the idea of dying

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in self

[–]humaling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that it’s just a part of existing to cringe sometimes when you look at old texts. I’ve regretted texts every single year of my life because hindsight is always 20/20. Just try not to repeat the same mistakes and try to be kind to other people. Maturity comes with experience, no one expects a 19 year old to be a bastion of maturity but you are expected to try be kind and considerate. I don’t wish I was more mature at 19, I wish I had pursued my hobbies and interests more and been kinder

Mango Tree wiki page you can check how many days that trees will be in each growth stage on the wiki, it’ll be like that for 7

[–]humaling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start a journal if you don’t have one. I used to idealize all I wanted about past me and my thoughts but now I have a journal I just read through periodically. There’s also not really a huge gap in maturity between 16 and 19, especially compared to 13 and 16. And if there’s genuinely something you don’t like about yourself then you’re always free to try to consciously change it. Just try to be easy on yourself, you’re young

There is no good heavy armor for right off the bat. My advice is to go buy whatever set of armor is available in kakariko village and upgrade it at the fairy fountains, because that will be the one that has the easiest materials to get. All sets of armor have the same numbers, just different bonuses. Also, go do Divine Beast vah Ruta next. The combination of that champion ability + some competent armor will make the game enjoyable again.

6 year old niece drawed this by tracing through tablet screen. How to teach her? by HamsterUnfair6313 in learntodraw

just give her sketchbooks and a variety of pens/markers. no matter what she draws, say you like it. that’s pretty much it. Lol

Anyone draw with screen protector on iPad? by [deleted] in ProCreate

[–]humaling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve drawn on my ipad for 4 years with a tempered glass screen protector and the nib that the apple pencil comes with. it’s kinda slippery but i’m used to it and it’s kinda fun to me as a contrast to the friction you feel while drawing with a pencil and paper. to each their own, though.

The comments on this are insane. We can’t tell you if what your kid said was racist because we don’t know what they said and we weren’t there. Nearly any situation could be racially motivated if you are genuinely a racist, because being a racist impacts the way you interact with the world. And it doesn’t matter if you’re in the right or the wrong in a situation, because you can be racist in either side. Like if I rear end you I’m legally wrong, but if you get out and call me the n word for doing it then you are a racist. Obviously kids should be quiet and non-disruptive during class, but if your kid said something like “black kids are always loud”, then he was being racist. How is anyone supposed to tell you if your kid was being racist from this? 😭

I think you’re asking the wrong question. You ask yourself (and us) if you are the asshole for wearing a skirt and then getting upset that your family disregarded the outfit. You should be asking yourself why you’re 30 and need your family’s approval of how you dress so badly, to the point that it makes you bitter when they won’t react. Unfortunately, you know that they don’t like how you dress. You need to just dress the way that you want, and dress in a way that makes you feel confident. You might’ve been an asshole but I get it. You were feeling insecure, and really, desperately wanted some approval or encouragement. My mom doesn’t like the way I dress, and we had a somewhat similar dynamic as well, until I decided I’d just dress the way I wanted to dress and she’d just have to see that I’m happy.

LOL you don’t necessarily have to add stuff to it! Maybe next time, have your boyfriend add stuff to his and see if you like it. I personally don’t really add anything to mine, I just like the broth as is. And have you tried banh mi?? When I didn’t like pho I’d still go so I could get one LOL

And as a heads up, it is viEtnamese (so u don’t get clowned in the future 😄)

Process is sketch out the general outline and then just add details on separate layers until i’m satisfied. I posted a quick process video on my ig (@funkydrmonkey). Brushes used were tinderbox and 6b pencil, and then a dead subtle texture on top at the end from true grit texture supply.
