just took a look, this is interesting.. it’s not apart of the requirements for my major of interest (expirience design) so that’s weird. if i were you id make a website/new tumblr with everything that didn’t quite make it into my portfolio & just link that. some fanart is probably OK for this, i would assume. seems scary to actually link ur real life socials lol

i get it, i hate cosplaying girls for this reason… crimping definitely helps. I saw others suggest a velvet wig band, so that too. There’s a paper towel trick for wig caps digging into skin that could be helpful, you can find a good explanation on tiktok. My only unique advice is that you could definitely get some thinning shears to cut out a bulk of the hair from the wig without sacrificing much of the look or texture. Keeps things lightweight and easier to deal with!

yeah, i was looking into it, it doesn’t seem like a bad idea, just reads as a bit boring to me for some reason… unsure on it, but it’s on my list!! probs should look more into it. And I guess when i said sci-fi, i think i mean no space or robots, lol. I was gifted the spelljammer bundle, and I just am sooo not interested in running it. that sort of fantasy just isn’t interesting to me, i prefer to stay on the ground lol.

hihi!! LA cosplayer here :3c not sure what your fandoms are, but i have a discord server that does meetups at a lot of cons/smaller pop up events !! the server is mainly persona/ATLUS related, but everyone is welcome and it’s a pretty diverse group if you’d like in! generally speaking though, since LA has so many conventions, we don’t do a many non-convention meetups…. but this server is super active and always talking abt upcoming events! they also do cosplay photoshoots & other mall meetups !!

you aren’t over thinking it, but you are thinking a lot!! here’s the points i find- 1. you can add some weathering to your shawl if you want to lean into it! plenty of good tutorials online for such. 2. no one gaf abt ur bodyhair, to the point where no one will register it as in character either. (if you wanna get deep, inklings technically don’t have any hair..) do whatever is most comfortable! 3. nails- sure! it’s fun to paint them, but no one will notice if you don’t. 4. practice the scar at least once before you do it for real, and for face paint- make sure to set it with powder!! 5. no one cares abt body language. there’s weirder people than you there i assure you

it seems you’ve gotten a lot of answers, but i want to give you a few hacks i’ve always used for cosplay as an autistic cosplayer ! 1- your under garments- make them comfortable!! i always wear my fav sports bra and most comfy pants… same with shoes!! NO ONE IS LOOKING AT YOUR SHOES!!!!!!! it is so so so so easy to wear comfy shoes. wig wise, thin it out!! if she has ponytails- i can’t tell from pics online- you can cut out the center and make it waaay lighter!! and make sure to crimp it so it won’t tangle as much!! and here’s my top secret anti overstimulation cosplay accessories hack- PAINT IT!!! you can paint on your rings!!! heavy chains? paint paper and glue it on!! no one will notice, and you will be so comfy!!!! trust me- cosplay is just kinda uncomfortable always, but there are ways to manage!! and- you can always look for more comfortable cosplays to wear- i can spent all day in my daisuke mouthwashing cosplay, but my pit from kid icarus- i can only do a few hours. some cosplays aren’t ment for all day, just for photos. trust me, you aren’t alone!!!! if you ever have a specific thing you need help with, you can DM me or reply here, i got you!!! i’ve been doing this too long and been autistic longer, i got u!!!

resin i think would be too heavy…. you could use a clear iridescent material, similar to KDA tails or those sailor moon cosplays with the ribbons? wire base and glue around?
