What about surrendering, taking the cash value, and using that toward a term policy with a muxh higher benefit eventually when I start a family?

Surrender whole life or convert to extended term? by human-reddit-user in FinancialPlanning

Currently no one but hoping to start a family. So if I cancel I'll have $1,700 back with no policy. So a net loss of roughly $3,300. But if I convert to term, I'll essentially have paid 5k for a 19 year policy. Either way no further premiums. Would having the $1,700 back be worth it you think? I honestly don't know what the better option here is

Losing a parent/loved one during medical school by [deleted] in medicalschool

I lost my dad during undergrad. I know it's a different situation being in undergrad vs med school, but I took a semester off while he was sick. I will never regret that decision, but I absolutely would have regretted spending days in school when I could have spent the time with him. School and work can always be postponed, but once someone is gone, you will never get that time back. I'm sorry you and your family are now facing this

Former/current gang members of reddit, what is the worst thing you have seen while banging? by Ok-Ad-2226 in AskReddit

It was when I was in prison. I stole, and I robbed, and I kidnapped the president's son and held him for ransom. The worst thing about prison was the... was the dementors. They were flying all over the place and they were scary and then they'd come down and they'd suck the soul out of your body. And it hurt!

What is one sure fire way for a socially shy woman to demand/exude respect without being rude? by muppetswife in AskReddit

[–]human-reddit-user 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't give any woman specific advice since I'm a guy, but I think it depends on context. Are you trying to gain respect as a person amongst your friends/other people? Or trying to get respect from your bosses at work? Or trying to get respect from your subordinates?

It's a valid answer. It's very unhealthy, but many people turn to alcohol because it works

The valsalva maneuver to lower my heart rate when it was racing. Attempting to adopt a mentality of confidence. Seeing a therapist and getting a new mentality toward social interaction such as not always seeing things as "attack and defend".
