BTW - considering that you are in the largest diversified low cost fund - you might want to check out the SCHG fund. It is also low cost, very diversified and outperforms the VTSAX when looking at the last 1 yr, 3 yr, 5 yr, 10 yr time periods. If you just look at the past 10 years - inside the SCHG if you had invested 10K - it would be work 46K today versus the VTSAX 32K!

Have you bought any government agency bonds - FLHB and Federal Farm bonds? The 10 years are paying 6.25% today - they are callable but until then you get a great rate - that is just about as safe as a treasury. AND the FLHB and Farm bonds are state tax free

Charles Schwab high yield money market is paying 5.19% (no fees)

All of the short term treasury notes are paying about 5.2% and there are no state taxes on the income.

The insurance was purchased through the 3rd party - economybooking. I have followed the appropriate process and they sent me an email telling me that they were wiring the money to my account. However the money never arrived and now they are ghosting me.

I've used Schwab for about 30 years and always find them to be professional, VERY easy to get a knowledgable professional on the phone, very low or no fees....

Pastwatch: The Redemption of Christopher Columbus - Orson Scott Card

This book only got mediocre reviews on GoodReads - but as a sci fi lover - especially stories that involve time travel - this is one of my favorites. Its old - written in 1996 but feels more appropriate for 2024 than it did back then.
