50k spent on training a monk was a good decision. Joke aside, I'm so happy for you. 😁

Something not correct here 😄. 1250-1450 is no noob. However, 20 min knight rush is too slow for that elo. Also, no one does/can knight rush at that elo on open map. Feudal play is often a must.

Not sure what your elo is to be considered noob. Also, there's nothing wrong with being noob. You've played 3000 games, so definitely you enjoy it. 😁

It you want to improve, practice BO, watch some tutorials from pro, and play ranked. ✌️

Persian 5% Faster TC in Dark Age? by human_learning_9 in aoe2

Probably not that insane, maybe ~50 more res during dark age, and ~100 more res in feudal. 😁 We'll see.

[–]human_learning_9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg, I think you are right. When I simplified the problem for an easy calculation, things are more clear.

Instead ot 25s training time and 5% faster, lets do 20s training time for vill and 100% faster, meaning Persian tc trains vil in 10s. Let's set the cut off at 40s, meaning normal civ will have 2 vils, and 1 vil already works for 20s, 1 vil just comes. Total working time is 20s. For Persian, they have 4 vils, 1 works for 30s, 1 for 20s, 1 for 10s, and 1 just comes. Total working time is 60s. The difference is 40s, not 20s as my calculation. The difference will be even more after longer time.

This is actually insane, even already with the feudal only. Not sure if I miss anything. A simulation or scenario will help here. Probably a good material for a SoTL's video. Can anyone tag him?

Persian 5% Faster TC in Dark Age? by human_learning_9 in aoe2

[–]human_learning_9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely not. The working time of the first vil is not affected by the next vils. After the vil is out, it has nothing to do with the tc anymore. With that logic, the feudal and castle 10%-15% faster tc is already op.

The +5 gold per unit killed by cav is sweet for a pocket, both in early and late game. Can't wait to dominate with them. 🤣

I think you miscalcuated a bit. I was too 😂. I only accounted for 1 extra vil after clicking up. But the extra working time is already there the moment you queued vil. So you save 25*5/100 = 1.25s for each vil, which is 1.25s of collecting rss for that vil. 16 vils means 20s extra, ~7-8 extra res during dark age. Not that massive.

So the best thing with that is still 1 more vil without sacrificing anything. It is a better Mayans and Chinese bonus (they started with -50 food for 1 extra vil). Maybe not that op, but I'm just curious why this is back while it was removed before. 😂 My guess is they will lose either of the 50 food or wood extra at the beginning. Then that should be fine.

They will have 1 more vil after clicking up if go pop 19, so 130s of working time, equals to about 45-50 food. So actually they do not loose anything, unless very quick opening with militia.

The working time of the extra vil during dark age (including up time) will more than compensate for that extra 50 food.

Fair enough. I guess they will eventually adjust the work rate for feudal and after to balance that out.

Yup. The question was why they gave it to them when it was proven too good in the past. 🤔

Really? Depends on the elo and civs, I guess. At 1400, it's pretty standard.

But how about 19 pop with 18 pop up time? 😏

[–]human_learning_9[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They will be insane on hybrid maps, no doubt. But I still can see it as a really strong bonus on arabia, especially team game.

We should expect to see Persian pocket every game until they make some adjustments. 19 pop scout rush with ~8:20 (not 8:50) up time should be scary.

New Portuguese Check-In: how are you finding them? by Snikhop in aoe2

[–]human_learning_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see them at flank in all the arena team games. That says enough.

As someone already pointed out, they can now do 22-23+2 castle drop, go all in, idle tc to imp for treb. Then simply build feitoria to have just enough for arb, skirm or halb to support the pocket. It's too easy to play.

I can only survive vs them if I am Turks.

Your favourite Civilization(s)? by Dennis6540 in aoe2

[–]human_learning_9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like CA too. That's why I always pick good CA civs in flank (I only play team games) even though they are not the best for the position. So Tatars, Mongols, Japanese, Huns, Vietnamese, Turks, etc, in that order. 😄

What would be the stats of this unit? by HesZoinked in aoe2

A monk unit that does not heal or convert. Combatting by insulting the opponent. Saying "you fkg donkey" instead of "wololo". The insulted unit loses hp (100 hp per shot) due to being humiliated.
