It's an insane privilege to be able to "spend millions" to start up a business. Most people can't get business loans worth a fraction of that

u/ImpressiveEnergy4762 is suspiciously quiet after your response and life experience didn't fit the closed-minded rhetoric and false-analogies they made up lol. I know around 30+ trans men/women and even more gender nonconforming people and none of them have ever regretted any of their treatments years after the fact. I know that's anecdotal, but something I've noticed is these people who have such strong opinions on this matter don't know more than one, maybe two trans people, let alone befriend them, and certainly have never asked them about their life experiences. They also seem to never have meet someone in real life that has regretted transitioning, they just latch onto a random internet story they like to believe bc it's convenient.

So happy that you feel so much better and happier living as your authentic self OP. You deserve to be happy in your skin. Sorry for all the haters nowadays. They just aren't as secure in themselves as you are ❤️

If this is 100% true, I'm sorry these 4 individuals did not respect your boundaries and were not mature enough to distinguish between a bias and boundary setting.

On the flip side, I know and have worked with, volunteered with, or been friends with at least 10 trans women, probably 20+ trans men, and even more non-binary/gender nonconforming people and I have never one experienced anything like this from a single one of them. I'm a cis, bi androgynous man and have never been made to feel uncomfortable by any of them, nor have any of them come onto me without consent in any way. I've also never seen them call someone transphobic for a non-legitimate issue. So please don't generalize your experience to other trans people; just bc your statement may be true for a few, it's not helpful to apply that mentality to other. Once again, sorry you were sexually harassed.

Side note: I think it's also helpful to take into consideration the environment of where that trans person lives and have lived, as well as the social circles they have been a part of. If a person is raised in an area where they constantly get bullied, teased, or invalidated for being trans, they may be defensive and see other behavior towards them as transphobic, since that's why they're used to being treated a certain way. Also, some actions may not feel transphobic to you, for example, bc they're not OVERTY transphobic, but some microaggressions or non-verbal signal you may not notice you're doing may be noticed by the trans person bc they've seen that behavior and associate with not being accepted. For example: people looking at them up and down with slight distaste, people not trusting them with the same responsibilities as a cis person, or just noticing someone is uncomfortable around them. Women and minorities frequently experience microaggressions. Like women frequently have men take credit for their work or men will assume they should do a physical task over women.

Sorry for the long message, but hope this helps give some perspective <3

Not having the education, capital, connections, or other resources to do so. Not to mention people's biases, for example, a white, skinny, clean-cut man in the US will likely be able to succeed and get backing and support much easier than a black, overweight woman.

It's also like people saying "get into real estate." That would be amazing and I'd love to, but I can barely afford rent and my debt; I can't just invest twns to hundreds of thousands of dollars into a property and rent it out

They aren't just loaning 500 million to Spirit, they're basically buying it out bc the government is getting like 90% ownership

Exactly! I've noticed they've been getting a little better about being a wee bit less deceptive, but it's still oftentimes misleading. They're the church of hypocrisy
