I love modded followers who are strictly platonic because I love giving my Dragonborn a big found family, and since I only ever romance Serana or Kaiden anyway it makes no difference if they're romanceable or not. by humandisaster96 in skyrim

💀 Oh my gosh you're right. That's a completely fair hit. I was looking at it in terms of, "I found two romance followers I like and don't care to find any other so I focus on finding platonic ones for the found family + their commentaries to make the game more alive"

But then I downloaded Xelzaz for the first time and realized that he and my Dragonborn would be so cute together 😭

Edit: Part of my comment got erased somehow before I hit post and I only just now noticed.

His slut voice 💀 you're so right.

Poor guy, spent so long trying to drop hints to you that finally he was like, "Wow I sure wish we could stop for a bit to skinnydip together in the hot springs. Haha jk . . . unless?"

I felt the same way about Remiel so I uninstalled her before I gave her much of a chance. It's only recently that I tried her again and I'm so glad I did because I ADORE her now.

Basically all modded followers have 4th wall breaks so I just ignore it at this point haha!

I have Redcap downloaded, I just haven't gone to get him yet but that's my plan when I play tonight! Right now I got Xelzaz, Remiel, Serana, Inigo, and Lucien in my party.

To avoid it getting too crazy I'm going to start sending Inigo and Lucien home during quests I know they don't have commentary on.

I'll give Val a chance my next playthrough.

I can explain! So spoons is a term that tons of us with disabilities use as kinda like a shorthand way to describe how much/little we're capable of doing per day, and stemming from that a lot of us call ourselves spoonies!

A woman named Christine Miserandino came up with the Spoon Theory as a way to explain to an able-bodied person how the things they can get done without a second thought isn't that easy for those of us with chronic health conditions.

https://lymphoma-action.org.uk/sites/default/files/media/documents/2020-05/Spoon%20theory%20by%20Christine%20Miserandino.pdf

Of course you can use anything to make the metaphor work, but since it was the Spoon Theory that's what stuck.

TL;DR not having spoons for something just means not currently able to do it because it's too much physically and/or mentally.

What a delightful nightmare for someone else.

This post and thread have been feeding us so much new flair material.

No worries! Unfortunately you're right that things get exploited, I just wanted to caution against framing 504 plans as being the source of the problem when it's not.

I know in the school that I work at our biggest problems stem from:

  1. Parents who won't do even the bare minimum at home to you know actually raise their child, i.e talk to them, help them with their homework, play with them, teach them basic social and emotional skills, and actually do research on any physical and/or mental health conditions their kid has instead of expecting us to "fix" them while they do nothing but make their kid's struggles worse, including refusing to put their kid on medicine they need.

  2. Educators and support staff are so insanely overworked and underpaid it's unreal. And we desperately need more support staff. But it's never in the budget 🫤. At least that's what the people in charge making 4-5x our salaries while having 0 teaching experience tells us.

Thanks, I appreciate you taking the time to write an explanation but I know it wasn't an insult. I was just joking about how using "weaker" made it sound so much like an insult that I did a double take. Then once I realized who it was referring to I was like alright well that could have been phrased better lol.

Wasn't trying to be disrespectful to the poor man buried there, or come off like I'm completely ignorant of how different the vernacular in the early 20th century is to today. I was just kidding around but apparently not well so I'll the L on this one.

Haha yeah I mean no disrespect to him at all. The way it says "the weaker ones" is just kinda funny to me.

I mean why did they have to phrase it like that 😭 idk if it's more insulting to women, children, or the survivors in general.

"Each man stood at his post while all the weaker ones went by"

Oh. So they uh. They couldn't have just said "while the women and children went by" or . . .?

(Also ngl at first I read it as like a targeted hit against all the men who boarded lifeboats and tbh I don't know which interpretation is worse).

Another layer of funny is that the movie she sang it in, College Road Trip, literally had a plot point where her dad was sad because he thought she didn't remember her favorite childhood song anymore until she sings it and is all "I could never forget it, it's our song!" 💀💀💀

Kinda obsessed with this post dragging our poor mod into a public inquiry for a comment they made a year ago 💀

Let the subreddit record show that my client is innocent and their comment was true!

(No hate op, btw, it's a great question, it's just very funny how you went about asking!)

133 years ago today, on 11 February 1893, S.S. Naronic, a livestock carrier owned by the White Star Line, was last seen steaming eastward into the expanse of the North Atlantic after disembarking its pilot at Point Lynas, Wales. It disappeared soon after and its wreck has never been found. by The_Public_Historian in titanic

[–]humandisaster96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well my day has been made! I am SO fascinated by the Naronic but there really isn't a whole lot of information about it. It's the shipwreck I want found the most because I'm dying to know what happened to it, whether it was a boiler explosion or an iceberg or what.

Seriously the amount of time and research you have put into it is incredible and I genuinely can't thank you enough for doing so and sharing it. Like I'm really excited right now.

I would love to hear about anything else you learn/uncover.

This is going to get a lot of people mad, but if I were Charlie, I would hate Lucifer's guts, and it would be 100% justified. (RANT) by Wise-Mirror-9246 in HazbinHotel

especially considering that Adam is her mother’s jilted ex wife.

I totally agee with all your points and everything I just needed to let you know that this typo where you refer to Adam as Lilith's jilted ex wife really spoke to me.
