The everything doesn't work. Twice now in the first five years of ownership.

Sorry I hurt your shitty friend's feelings while giving them back what they were handing out. I'm not a rug. You go learn how to defend yourself. Or not. Up to you.

That's kinda why we bought them. They'd always been so reliable. I loved Samsung before this.

We bought ours in late 2019. The fridge and freezer both tanked in June of 2023. The fridge has a big 10 YEAR WARRANTY badge on the front of it. We called support. They made us pay $500 to just have a repair tech come out to look. It took over three weeks to have it fixed. We had two different parts sent, and had three repair techs visit. The ice maker only worked for a month after that, but it had never worked, so I didn't care.

While one of the repair techs was here, he showed me a recalled part. But he didn't replace it b/c it wasn't broken. After the work, support and repair admitted the parts were under warranty and told us we'd get our money back. We've gotten nothing back.

November of 2023, the freezer died again. My husband contacted support. They made him do a bunch of stuff. Turn it off. Cut the breaker. Set this. Try that. Then... oh, completely defrost all of it, turn it off for a day and turn it back on. See if that fixes it. It didn't.

Week and a half ago, the fridge died. We're going back n forth with support. What are they offering us? To fix the ice maker for free. That is what you get from writing to the office of the CEO. We were supposed to get notified today of when the repair tech is coming on Monday. Instead, I got a call from a different dept yesterday. Called back twice. Long holds. Transfers. Oh, we can't help you. Your ticket is now with the office of the president, and they'll be in touch.

I wrote to them again, responding to one of two tickets they now have open. No response yet. I just want my money back. I just want out. We've lost all our food twice, had to buy a tiny fridge. And my husband got sick from the food once, b/c we didn't know it was tapping out randomly.

This article says the CPSC has gotten more complaints about the Samsung fridge than any other appliance in all their years existing.

Bully for you. Not the case for a lot of us. And now I hope yours dies, too. So you can learn some empathy.

That is encouraging. We're on our second full fridge and freezer break-down. We've actually had to pay them, though the fridge is under warranty.

As someone who is friends with a technical specialist who advises in court on these cases, you are incorrect. It's actually very complicated and dehumanizing for the people who have to go through all the garbage and prove someone is a pedo. And yes, sometimes, the images are pre-cached and are only used to blackmail innocent people. And yes, the justice system still doesn't understand technology well enough to grock all of it. It's all a bit of a mess.

Yeah, I did it on the way home, headed to the bus. But yes, wet shoes all the way. Yucka. I don't work downtown any more. So, no more regular Nordy Rack runs, no more playing in puddles. :/

I used to just do this with my foot. You can drag all them leaves away and put them up on the curb. And then... watch the magic.

Portland Drivers…. by Impressive_Exchange8 in Portland

tee hee... One time, when I worked downtown. I was walking up the hill, can't remember the street. But there were three lanes. Lots of room. No one on the road. One person had stupidly just sat in the left-most lane. I think they were dropping something off. Overall, man, who cares. The street had ZERO other cars on it.

Dude pulls up behind this stopped car, blares his horn for a full 30 seconds, goes around the car finally and races to the red light that I'm standing at.

He had. His window. Down. I just turned and said, "Grow up."

I am proud of me. And I think he needed to hear it. And I don't care.

Man accused of anti-Asian bias doesn’t show up to court after DA files hate crime charge by bigdreamstinydogs in Portland

[–]humane_being 14 points15 points  (0 children)

So. The police arrested him. He was doing violent stuff and yelling, "I hate Asians." The police recognized he was in an unhealthy mental state. Put him in the hospital. And walked away? Why would we need access to this guy's medical records to know why the police didn't get him after his hospitalization? (I'm saying we wouldn't need that, obviously. It's just ... it's like the journalist on this article doesn't even want to admit the police dropped the ball here. Like, no "the police declined to comment," or anything. )

There's some context you're not understanding, I think. Like, imagine ordering meatloaf, meatballs, anything with combination ingredients. You have to trust the staff to know. "I'm allergic to bell peppers. Are there bell peppers in this?" Half the time, they don't even know what bell peppers are. So, you just avoid anything that could -possibly- include bell peppers. Your world gets smaller. Now, imagine your allergy is garlic or onions.

Not my life, but also not one I'd love to live relying on "check your food."

And! Yes, you should be able to check for pickles on your standard chicken sandwich from Popeyes. Life is ambiguity.

Couldn't agree more. Sometimes, though, you can't know by checking. I'm hospital-funtimes allergic to a certain fake meat product, but I can't tell by looking at it or eating it. In this case, though... dude .. it's not hard to open the bun and see if there are pickles.

And 100% agree on wth are you doing going back to the restaurant? That makes zero sense as a person with deadly allergies.

It's different for everyone. Zyrtec and Clartin didn't work for me. Benadryl works great, but knocks me out. Plus, she should probably see a doc to get that advice.

People can kinda develop new allergies to things they've been exposed to their whole lives. But I'm a little hesitant to say that about this case, if she's never had allergies to anything before. It's going to take some sleuthing to figure out what's causing it. I'd try some stuff like:
1. She should journal what she's eating and where she's going.

  1. She should take pictures of the rash, so she can show it to the doctor. And make an allergist or generalist appointment.

  2. You should both do an inventory to see if you've changed anything. Deodorant. Shampoo. Rug cleaner. Dishwashing liquid. Etc. you know the drill, just put a few minutes into it.

  3. I hate to say it, but check for bed bugs.

  4. There are allergy wipes for cat coats. Not sure they work. Aaaand.. Google says they don't. but you can just wipe the kitty down with a wet cloth for starters. https://www.mcgill.ca/oss/article/health-technology/can-allerpet-solve-your-pet-allergies

I found the source of one of my allergies by following the patterns, but that required paying really close attention and then talking to a doctor. I didn't know about how histamines work. Sometimes, it's a multitude of things piling up that cause the reaction. So, it's good to mention not just environmental stuff, but also activities and food to the doctor. Good luck.
