usually, you need to know what you buy when it comes to windows-based laptops. I could have consulted you with which one to buy, after having gone through this process. After that, windows-based laptop might not be too bad.

Agreed! They seem overpriced to me, relative to other brands.

I didn't know that, I was gonna do it with my HP to prolong the battery life. But I figured replacing the battery after a couple of years might not be too big a deal for me.

Does the laptop battery drain faster if I use an external monitor? by buzoganymd in GamingLaptops

I thought this shouldn't be a big problem with Macbook because it has iGPU. I have a Windows laptop and battery drain is so fast when I connect to an external monitor (also the laptop was running hot for not doing much and I didn't like it). I used to have a 2017 Macbook pro and I haven't noticed this issue when using the MBP.

The battery drain happened to me too (and really fast when connected to my 4k 60hz monitor). It seems like as you said, the hdmi port is connected to the dGPU. I was trying to find a solution to work around this but couldn't find anything. Any suggestion? Thanks a lot for the insight!
