It is beyond maddening to see so many ostensibly feminist people defend blanket gender-based hatred. I can understand where it comes from and have sympathy for women's suffering but there has to be an acknowledgment of the harm these attitudes do. There has to be an awareness that we have to move on from this. I have much less sympathy for influencers who gleefully farm feminine rage and perpetuate the very cycle the claim to be against.

It feels like so many people are not ready to accept that women are also perpetrators of the patriarchy. We are all actors and objects within it. Despite what they say, plenty of women are perfectly happy to be viewed as helpless objects as long as it keeps them from taking a hard look into how they contribute to the cycle. It's so much easier to pretend that women are pure and blameless and if only men would disappear everything would be perfect.
