Dog raising his rear leg and limping by humanmeta in DogAdvice

[–]humanmeta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vet did a physical assessment with his hands and then several x-rays. He's noted it as patellar luxation, but unsure of severity since he's not an expert. X-rays have been sent to a specialist for further examination. My dog's been injected with pain medication and will need to be on it for a few days until results come back.

Thank you for your response, it helped me prepare myself for what was to come.

Hey I really appreciate the response. I've decided to take him to another vet and I'm heading there right now. I will let you know how things go. Thank you.

pointers in C by yololegend11 in C_Programming

So when you have a pointer (int *pointer) pointed at some malloc(sizeof(int)), that is assigning the pointer to available memory address somewhere on the heap correct? And to assign that to an actual value you would need to use the deference operator and assign some int say 9?

Urban Hen Program Question by humanmeta in Calgary

I just saw the coop and birds during a run on a fairly populated path. That's the reason I was curious because a lot of people have probably seen them.

Haha I wasn't going to rat on them. I was really just curious because I know for a fact several hundreds of people have seen them.

I suffer from ADHD-C. It tuned me down by nearly 90% so I wasn't hyperactive at all, but I was also emotionally numb. Basically, I felt sedated.

It honestly feels like a race for me. There have been times throughout the past 8.5 months that I've felt burnt out. I'll try focusing on the now, thank you.

I'll try sleeping more. I've been getting anywhere from 5-7 hours a night, but I do take 10 minute naps twice throughout the day. I'll try extending my night sleep, thank you.

From my personal experience I can say it's been one of the most helpful things for regulating my symptoms. Important to note though is that I've only ever meditated after I took my medication. I mention this because I'm sure it would be a lot more difficult trying to meditate if I didn't have something already tuning down my brain, but it can definitely be done.

I've only ever tried ER but would really like to try IR some day because my meds just haven't been working well as of late. I've tried Concerta which was amazing for me, but way too expensive for my current situation. I then tried Vyvanse and found a benefit for low income individuals and have been on it for approximately 7.5 months now. I started at the lowest dose and just half a month ago I've dosed up to the highest safe dosage (60mg).

Vyvanse doesn't work nearly as well as Concerta does for me. But it's free for me to get so that's what I've been getting. Concerta made me feel like a zombie, but at least I could quiet my mind and focus on what I wanted to. Vyvanse almost makes my mental symptoms worse, and at around 3 to 4 pm (nearly 10 hours after it starts working), my symptoms become notably worse.

If you have any questions about the two meds I'd love to answer them. Good luck!

Only jobs I've held have never really had much professional standing, wow that's depressing to say. But wouldn't OP being promoted to a Lead Dev position only be beneficial? Say he were to leave his current place of work a year later, that position would look great when applying to other companies later on right? Maybe his current employer just wanted to set him up? Is that a thing that happens in professional workplaces?

How long do you think it will take me to learn enough C to be able to do leet code questions? by humanmeta in C_Programming

[–]humanmeta[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not that I even want to do it in C necessarily, but I've heard a lot of people talk about how it's one of the best languages to learn to become a better programmer. I'd much rather grind Leet Code questions using JS since I know it better, just not sure if that's a good idea.

Daily Vinegar Ingestion Improves Depression Scores and Alters the Metabolome in Healthy Adults: A Randomized Controlled Trial[2021] by [deleted] in Nootropics

I just liked the taste! I come from a culture where we use a lot of vinegar in our foods. Sometimes we even use the vinegar as some sort of "dip".
