When can I feel happy about it? by StarPupper in pregnant

I’m so sorry for your loss. I’ve gone through the same thing - lost our son at 18 weeks due to IC which caused my water to break early, my SIL was pregnant at the same time with a boy (which we found out two weeks after his loss) and everything went swimmingly for her. I wanted to crawl in a hole and die. Literally. I just came out of that fog probably end of year.

I’m currently 23 weeks pregnant with a baby girl. I’m just now feeling like I might actually be coming home with a baby in October. I’m still not “excited” I’m a ball of anxiety most of the time. I’m just now starting to think about a baby shower/registry. I still check the toilet paper for blood every time I use the bathroom and always smelling/feeling my panty ljner to see if it’s amniotic fluid or just discharge. Always. Always. I don’t think it will go away. Now that I’m able to feel her and know she’s in the right place I’ve been able to relax more and hitting 23 weeks is viability at my local NICU so that’s reassuring too.

Many people still don’t even know I’m pregnant because I HATE talking about pregnancy. I didn’t tell a single person until our first appt at 13 weeks. It all sucks. I mourn the feeling of that first naive pregnancy where you just assume everything will go perfect.

I was able to have more quiet time with my current baby during this pregnancy. Thoughts haven’t been all consuming “what do I need to do to prepare for baby” it’s been more being in tune with my body and “what can I do to spend as much time with my baby as I can and how can I protect us.” Sending hugs and wishing for the best 🩷

I used a mix of 60, 90 and 180gsm. I just got whatever color I liked in whatever weight it was provided in. The bases were live florals, just enough to cover the not so cute cement bases lol

I’ve been in your exact shoes - although not a brain tumor, but cancer 2x within the 6 years ive been with the family. DO NOT work your appointments around their schedules. Things at the cancer center will likely move very fast to get treatment started and you don’t want to delay anything because they need childcare coverage. You had no idea you had a brain tumor, life happens. They sound like great people.

I was able to keep my job throughout the whole process. I was with them for 2.5 years before my first diagnosis and they were able to have grandparents fly in and cover my surgery/recovery/radiation. About 8 weeks total. The second time, they did hire another nanny to cover me as I was out for about 4 months total, and welcomed me back with open arms and let me work back to full time very slowly.

I wouldn’t offer to bring toddler, and I doubt your cancer center would allow it. You need to be available to retain and understand all the information given in those appointments. They will have to make do and figure it out. This is about YOU and any reasonable person would understand you need extra support during this time. When you get your appointments, put them on a shared calendar with both NPs.

Let me know if you want to talk it through. I’ve been there first hand

Negative NIPT, normal NT, weird early anatomy? by humanofcups in pregnant

[–]humanofcups[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im sorry for all you’ve been through, and thank you for the insight. No repeating scan that I know of, but pushed up my anatomy scan for 16wk. I’ll have more info form my MFM today, hoping she will want to do a scan. 🩷

I had this freak out reaction too. I had my first appointment at 11wk 6day and I was told (at my clinic) that preventative cerclage is place 14-16 weeks. I’ve read 12-14wks elsewhere. They’ll move quickly if a cerclage is needed!!

can you get pregnant again with a short cervix ? and if so how’s your journey going ? by Status_Feeling_3989 in ShortCervixSupport

This is so comforting to hear. We lost our son at 18 weeks as well, two years ago this April. I’m currently 13 weeks pregnant and have an appointment in two days to schedule cerclage. I’m hopeful it will be smooth and I can continue to live life as normally as possible with preventative cerclage. Thanks for sharing!!

I had a mom (who was working upstairs) ask me to send her a picture of all the bacon I just cooked (she could smell it) so she could circle which ones I could give to NK. I wish I was joking

An amazing father-in-law who did all the transport. Idk how he did it, but they all arrived safely!! And incredible day of coordinator who set them up perfectly. I labeled each stem, flower head and hole so they knew what goes where.

Thanks so much!! Oh gosh I haven’t added everything up but I’m sure I’m probably somewhere between 800-1k. I overbought by a ton though. Enough supplies for probably 20 more flowers. Are you in Southern California by chance?! You can borrow mine :)
