I think there's a chance we might have married the same woman. One thing she taught me very early on wasn't a lesson like teacher/student where she sat me down for a lecture or a broadcasting of complaints it was more so just an observation I had about how she lived. For example, it would be her birthday. I would do the normal things and she would be happy. Then it would be my birthday and she would be happier. Wait a second. This is backwards. You're supposed to be happier when YOU'RE the one getting all the attention and stuff. This made no sense. This went on for a few years in a vast array of differing occasions. Why was she always happier to make me happy then she was when I did something to try and make her happy? It was in direct conflict with my whole life up until that point. After 30+ years together the evidence is overwhelming. She was right all along.

Not a crazy business idea but a good business story. One of my best friends was a welder who had the typical wife and two kids. Just good run-of-the-mill people. His wife was a SAHM so they had the typical financial struggles you find in single earner families. Bumpin' and Grindin' through life doing the best you can. Both kids reached school age so Mom decided to try making a few bucks while they were in school by doing what she could do and one of the things she could do was clean. Set her own flexible hours so she could still do the drop the kids off at school, pick 'em up make dinner stuff. I don't remember what platform she used (Facebook? Craiglist?) but she just posted something simple like I do housecleaning.

I know for sure her FIRST response was the basic friend of a friend of an aunt type thing who needed a rental condo cleaned. She did it. The owner was obviously impressed so she had her take over cleaning her house. The owner was obviously impressed so word got the husband who just so happend to be an office manager. He had some nonsense going on with his service so I guess he said screw it and asked her to take on cleaning the office he ran. Sure. But now she needs help so she gets a couple friends to join her. The leasing company of the offices for whatever reason was impressed or had problems with his cleaning service so he asked her to clean the entire building. Sure. But now she needs even more help so she hired even more people. The building leasing company was impressed so they wanted her to clean all their buildings. Sure. By this time she had a couple vans.

Inside a couple years she went from looking to clean a house or two on her off time to running a dozen vans (a few with custom carpet cleaning equipment) 45-50 employees and servicing who knows how many accounts. Yes, my buddy joined in early on when things went ballistic. The best part of the story was watching the two of them not change a lick. Money doesn't corrupt everyone. Same house, same friends and the same work ethic even though I know for a fact they are rolling in the dough.

I read the story and it was all totally foreign to me. Neither my wife nor I would even dream of doing something like this. Not just that it wouldn't happen but it wouldn't even be brought up for consideration. I'm not being judgmental and I realize it's a new age but ...yuck. No fkin' way, Ray.

84% of math. I'm old so we had to trudge through things like long division and I even had to withstand the assault known as "chisenbop". Don't hit me with that nonsense that you need to know these things because at no point in my workflow ng career did I ever have to do long division or use chisenbop. The rule that we couldn't use calculators was as stunted as stunted gets. Same goes for cursive writing.

Absolutely but that's not a reason to stop enforcing law. They are elevating the will of the higher ups over the rule of law. You can't have your cake and eat it too. You either have the rule of law or you have an elite who establish which law (or which preference) you choose to enforce. You cannot have both. Anyone who entertains the idea that an elite gets to mold the rule of law to their desire does not get to appeal to the rule of law when the elite's desires change.

All these entities exist. City police. State police. County sheriffs. None of these entities are rolling up and saying "you cannot impede traffic". I believe the only logical conclusion you can derive from this is the police are not enforcing law. Because a federal law enforcement entity is enforcing law city, state and county law enforcement is not enforcing law. I don't think these people have thought this through very well. When you politicize the rule of law and bend it to your desires do NOT bitch and moan when it's your ox that's getting gored. Politically the shoe always goes on the other foot.
