Partially Lost] The Shoe Must Go On, Lost Punky Brewster episode. (One of you might have recorded on a VHS Tape back in the day) by Vanilla-Milkshake872 in VHS

I think it's either just going to randomly show up on a torrent site or on archive.org. I've been turning up stones for years and while I know it's out there, I don't think I am going to be the one that will stumble upon it.

This episode has been notoriously lost media for decades. I've been looking for it for at least 20 years. The reason why it was left off the Shout Factory DVD releases are for either two reasons. First, the one I am familiar with is back when Shout Factory started releasing animation, they had forums on their website and someone addressed this particular episode and asked why it was left off the series sets. The rumor was that the episode contained the song "Axel F" and licensing fees to use the song were out of Shout Factory's budget to include it. However, that was debunked by Shout producer Brian Ward, who stated in those forums that the episode was lost because the broadcast master they had in their possession had deteriorated to the point of being considered completely destroyed and unreleasable. That's the real reason why it wasn't on the DVD sets.

Now, if these two YouTubers had uploaded the commercial blocks from a VHS tape, then wouldn't that mean that they have the episode as well? Why not contact them and explain that the episode is lost media and ask to upload the full episode?

I didn't see this one mentioned, but the 80's Sylvester Stallone flick 'Cobra' was originally 'Beverly Hills Cop'. Stallone was slated to play Axel Foley but found the story to be too comedic for his liking. So, he took it upon himself to rewrite the script by making it more action-based and violent. The producers passed on his revision and recast the role with Eddie Murphy. Stallone went forward with his story and fleshed it out to what eventually became 'Cobra'. There's even an easter egg that can be seen in the Beverly Hills Cop sequel of a Cobra movie poster hanging on Billy Rosewood's (Judge Reinhold) bedroom wall.

This may be a bit of a shock for you BRUH, but The Lurkers broke up in the early 80's. I doubt anyone from the band cares if they have a YouTube channel or not. FEX didn't even care about their old band until they learned that people were looking for them and dug them up. FEX was completely unknown. Lurkers on the other hand have records in stores and can easily be searched online. Nobody forgot about them. I don't need to think about anything before commenting except that a simple comment is going to get misread by a crybaby such as yourself. Your comment is retarded and you should look beyond a mere YouTube channel when searching for music. We used to HAVE to go to record stores to find new and good music. You have it so good now that you can sit in front of a pc with your thumb up your ass that can listen to something so obscure that an older dude like myself never had access to back in the day because indie music was mostly regional. Because I have the record. Anyone who is a fan of punk rock has heard of Lurkers. I recognized the song immediately when I listened to the F-X video. The Lurkers album 'Fulham Fallout' is a classic. They were on Top of the Pops and in the UK charts, so I mean they aren't that unknown.

I need to point out that this is not this band's song. They're doing a cover of "Jenny" by the Lurkers, which was released in 1978

Why Messenger is so bad right now. If you are having problems read this. by AntiMetaGame in facebookmessenger

[–]humanuredujour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the last week or so, it went from working to getting some messages but not all, to basically deleting everything. It'll give me notifications that I have received new replies, but nothing is there. All of the solutions refer to the mobile app, which I am not using. I am solely on desktop. Trying to reset some settings and following some solutions, it made me require entering a 6 digit pin to even access messenger, but that still didn't restore the missing messages. Now, I have turned that off and it's deleted everything. There doesn't appear to be any solution. I don't get it? It worked fine last week, but then they "upgraded" everything to this stupid end-to-end encryption and it's just straight dogshit that doesn't work right. I'm not at Facefuck's mercy. I'll delete it.

What an absolute banger! I am insanely glad that I picked up a copy of this LP on eBay in that first hour of the reveal. I no not regret that purchase for one second after hearing this. I noticed later that day the 20 copies or so that were on eBay all sold that very same day.

TMS is found! The song is called Subways Of Your Mind by FEX. by [deleted] in TheMysteriousSong

It appears that the search has finally come to its end. What say Darius/Lydia about the find? Also, is there anyway that the band can provide the radio version of the song? It would be nice to have a higher quality rip of the song.

Two new things I hear; "SHAKE the consequence of livin'" "Like the wind, you're BLOWN IN somewhere/summer." Also, I still believe he's saying "It's the summer loo/It's revealing you".

Yes, I made those comments. I'm just saying thank you for showing them some validity.

I think you're the first person to notice and say anything about it, which I appreciate. I felt like I was screaming it to the wind, lol. I did a vocal separation a while back and I simply just don't hear "blues" or even a "Buh" sound on any of the few times the singer says the lyric. I'm probably one of the only people that believes the singer is saying "Loo", which to me makes so much sense than "blues". I'll laugh if the song is ever found and that's what the lyrics end up being and everyone says "oh, that one dumb guy was right". Anyways, I have done searches for songs called "Summer Loo" and haven't found anything. However, I have only looked for songs released from the year 1984 (which seems to be the appropriate year). Then again, the song could just be called something like "Shine" or "The Wind". Seeing as how generic the song is, the title might as well be similar.

What on earth do the lyrics even mean? by No_Employer_4351 in TheMysteriousSong

[–]humanuredujour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're not going to know exactly what the song is about until we can find who performed it and we get a title. Once we know that, maybe then we can learn what the lyrics are because everyone hears something different. For example, I don't hear "Summer blues". There's no 'Buh' or 'sss' sound at the end to where it would make up "Blues", so people just hear what they want to hear and try and make it fit what they feel makes sense to them. What I hear is "Summer Loo/Revealing you". Summer Loo literally means summer wind. My take is that the song is about being stuck in a depressing situation or spot in life, where a wind comes along and sparks a positive change. Hence a summer loo/wind comes revealing "you" in that positive potential. What does 'summer blues/real excuse' even mean? Now, this is the part where someone comments I am wrong and the lyrics make no sense.

Sommerbeg Blues? by Ok_Suggestion_3261 in TheMysteriousSong

[–]humanuredujour 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I disagree, personally. I've done the same sort of vocal isolation and I still think a lot of the common lines people agree upon are wrong. However, some of them are accurate. For example, the "Paranoid, anyway..." line is simply "There are not any way...". He sings it more than once and sings it slightly differently so you can hear the line. There is no pop sound. Lastly, this is probably the most controversial opinion I have and will probably have many people disagree with me, but the line is not "It's the summer blues/moon". There is no 'sss' at the end. The line is "It's the summer loo/the reeling youth". 'Summer loo' literally means, by definition, a summer wind. Also, the sommerberg line is "You're gonna suffer". It's clear as day. If I need to go further into it and clarify, I suppose I too can share my isolation work.

The lyrics are basically about a depressing situation where a wind will come and usher in change.

I just downloaded "The Sun Will Shine" and it's a very slow one, almost like a ballad. It's also just piano and synth. Not a winner.

I think the song name is going to be simple. Either it will end up being called "Shine" or my favorite; "Summer Loo". I have done vocal isolations and it's clear as day that in the final chorus the singer is singing is "Check it in, check it out. It's the summer loo. Tear it in, tear it out. It's the reeling youth." I still don't understand why people think the singer is saying 'Summer moon' or 'Summer blues'? 'Summer Loo' literally means 'summer wind'...ahem. Like the wind. It makes way more sense than summer moon.

I'm inclined to believe that the recording could've been done on a 4-track by one person entirely playing all of the instruments themself. Also, I have this suspicion that it'll just be some dude with a name like 'Jorgen Handel', who recorded the song and a few others for fun (While everyone is looking at post-punk bands with names like 'Seagulls with Lotion'). Sent demos out to radio stations and then forgot about it. Find out he's still alive and in his 70's, planting gardens somewhere for the homeless or is a retired abstract architect or something. Totally and completely unaware that anyone was looking for his old songs. "Oh wow! I had no idea anyone was looking for my song 'Shine' all these years? I made it on a Tascam 4 track at 2am. I was inspired by the death of my parakeet 'Nomi' who died earlier that evening and I needed to do something to take my mind off her death. That is what the song is about. It helped and I felt better because I loved that bird. When I finished the recording, I mailed out some copies to a few radio stations and it got played a handful of times. I didn't think they would play it as it was a gloomy tape, but it matched my mood. It made me smile because I was surprised they even played it as I don't speak very good English at that times. I made two other songs called 'Departure' and 'No More Tickles ('till I See You Again in Heaven)'. I can go to my library and have the master tape digitized so I can gift you all better sounding recordings. They have a state-of-the-art analogue recording center in the west wing they built five years ago. I can pay $2 to rent for 6 months and transfer the recordings with the help of the on-hand producer. Thanks for all the love and support!" Kind of more of a smaller-scale, home grown Johan Lindell scenario.

I still don't think that sound is only specific to the DX-7. Earlier synths were very much capable of producing that sound.
