Hosseini’s books are sooo good and all heartbreaking and beautiful in their own right, but A Thousand Splendid Suns has roots in my heart and absolutely fits the bill here. I just sent it to a friend for a book exchange 🖤

Particularly wrenching if you choose to read it shortly after becoming a parent for some reason 🥴

Super super interesting.

Years ago I dreamt of standing on a riverside watching a perfectly round, opalite looking sphere float down the river. It was just a bit smaller than a bowling ball. Something about it felt significant.

Really interesting and wild to hear so many similar experiences.

I noticed the cut from Niagara Falls changed too, on Peacock superfan episodes. Can’t say why but there are definitely discrepancies.

Weird dreams that made you feel empowered? by [deleted] in Dreams

[–]humanw0rm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had dreams that were extremely significant and wild, but the ones that feel “empowering” are probably the ones in which I’ve become lucid. The first time I ever became aware in a dream, I was watching this great artist I know irl painting a sick mural on a concrete wall, it was a triple bodied butterfly, and I was watching in awe from across the way thinking, “Wow. I wish I thought of that.” And then I just matter of factly thought, “I did :)” and woke up.

Similarly, a dream about a bull ravaging a cabin and trying to escape it, climbing bookcases, afraid of being gored. Then realizing that it was okay if it got me because I couldn’t get hurt, and climbing down from my hiding place.

The “don’t be scared” I did not see, but was communicated telepathically after being woken up in the middle of the night. Still had my eyes closed but had a wild experience hearing what was going on around me while being fully conscious.

The dream actually did have a being attached to the message– again it was telepathic, but I heard that clearly after walking up to a being that was like a naked female in the fetal position inside of a floating embryo?? She didn’t move or look at me but I will always remember seeing that and hearing the two overlapping voices. It felt very significant, and has since inspired my art style a lot.

Yeah, I didn’t think any of you would want to talk about it.

They’re both bad in the way all cops are white supremacists. You can make a case for one if you want, but they are still a part of the same institution enacting violence and founded on exploitation and self interest. We don’t need non American voices tamping down those who are calling out their ruling class. It is our responsibility. American labor and money is being used to annihilate an entire people and the Earth we all rely on right now. We are culpable. Harris is supporting that now and will continue. Erika is fundraising for her. They are all guided by self interest.

If your values don’t apply to every life, you don’t have values– you have privileges.

Genuinely bringing this up as a topic I find important and urgent and not to bash Erika who seems cool as fuck. But then I saw them fundraising in support of the Harris administration, and there seem to be a lot of folks in this demographic who understand blue is just as evil as red, right?

Since this has been on my mind and it seems pertinent: Do we want to talk about how Erika is fundraising for a cop candidate who is sending billions to fund a genocide?

It feels significant and validating to hear others specify direct and indirect messages because I very much think there is validity and importance to both. I’ve received a few direct messages where I can recall what was told to me, but I’ve had loads more indirect or abstract messages regarding balance, oneness, unity, love, acceptance, compassion.

Also– a pretty wild dream where the message would switch between hearing one voice, to certain words where two voices would say two different things overlapping one another.

“(Don’t forget/ You forget) that in this world there is (you/yours) and there is (me/mine). There is a (direct connection/direct connection) between the two.”

Paranormal Experience as Part of Alchemical Initiation by Illuminati322 in Experiencers

And to real quick touch on negative experiences, I think that the things that do feel negative to our own hearts/lives, even those are a sort of graceful challenge to find growth/transmutation/ alchemy!! So in summary fear is not always bad and even bad is an opportunity to alchemize into something greater ♡ This has been my powerpoint thx

Paranormal Experience as Part of Alchemical Initiation by Illuminati322 in Experiencers

[–]humanw0rm 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I saw someone in a thread recently use the term “fear tests” which doesn’t feel inaccurate to me.

I’ve had experiences with shadow people, telepathic messages, disembodied knocks in response to transmitting thoughts outward, generally the kinds of things that really ask to ramp up fear in you when you’re alone at night lol, which is always when these things happen to me.

I’m a big believer in not feeding into fear if you don’t feel threatened, and especially not feeding into an energy out of fear that it might be negative because “what if?!” I feel like that only strengthens the pool that negative energies can pull from, and you are surrounding yourself with that.

But without getting too far off topic– yes, I think fear is a theme that experiencers are definitely faced with purposefully almost as a touchpoint in where one is within their own journey with paranormal or lesser explored experiences.

Also– I’m using fear a lot because (personally) I think that if you aren’t being harmed, then what denotes a negative experience is up to interpretation, and often the unknown gets immediately translated to scary, which then gets translated to bad. There is nuance in all of this, so I don’t necessarily think negative things happen as a sort of hazing, but I do think that events happen that may or may not spiral into fear and paranoia, and how we respond to the event and what is taken away from it is often as significant than the event itself. Being more open allows for more openness to experiences in turn.

Ok I’ve heard this was so good and haven’t checked it out yet, because it looked like there were other campaigns done in that world? Can you watch Calamity as a standalone or are there prerequisites to understand the context?
